I'm planning to get Assassin't creed and Beyond Good and Evil.... total $15.. not bad.. might get farcry 2 too for $10 but not sure..

Yeah, those are good prices. They're matched up on Steam right now, so it depends on which route you want to go. Do the games from Ubi's store have any DRM?

Oh, I guess they do use IGN's D2D service for their games.

They do have 5 games released on their download store for Mac. Otherwise it's probably easier buying these on Steam.
