UC College HElp

Hey, I'm a senior highschool student with one week left of actual classes before graduation. I was accepted inot UC Santa Cruz and am really stressed out after relaxing the last three months. I don't have any Ds or Fs but I only have 5 classes this year and my estimated GPA so far is 2.8. I'm not sure but the issue is kind of blurred for the different UC schools, that you need a 3.00 GPA+ or get a de-admission. Any know for sure?

ps. Is enter the matrix worth $20.00 i loved the movie?

more concerned about college or a dvd?

Ah... good ol' days of "Senioritis!" Most every senior in high school has suffered through that disease in one way or another, and it's perfectly normal, hahaha.

UC Santa Cruz is pretty easy, so I wouldn't worry about the 2.8... But if you were accepted to something like LA, Berkley, or Davis, I'd be a tad bit worried.

Now, even if Admissions get on your case, just explain to them that you will succeed in the college, and that senior year was a bit crazy for you, I dunno. Hopefully you can... somehow convince them.

wtf are you talking about? Just because you have the lowest GPA they say they let you apply with doesn't mean you will get into the college you apply to.

How's your GPA a 2.8 without Ds or Fs????

I guess mostly C's and like a B and an A or something.

Oh right  Forgot about those pesky Cs. I'm sure you'll be fine OP, UCSC is the most leniant UC, I just heard problems stemmed from Ds or lower.

Am I the only person whose grades actually went up my last semester of high school?

Anyways, admissions really only affect you if you have a massive drop in GPA and you were borderline to begin with. It shouldn't be a big deal, because I assume if you talked to them you could still go even if they drop you.

My experience with colleges is that they actually care far more about SAT/ACT scores then your GPA. Seeing how there is so much varience in quality of highschools it makes a lot more sense to base evaluations off a standized test. And enter the matrix was ok. I wouldn't give 20 for it maybe 10.

It depends if you dropped from a 4.0 down to a 2.8 in one semester  However, that would take some serious talent + be impossible so you should be fine. Besides, like everyone else here says, UCSC is pretty lenient when it comes to admissions.
haha beerguy actually did work in his last semester of high school.
I guess I did a little while everybody else did nothing.

At my high school, most of the AP teachers ended up giving their students As in their last semester of senior year. I guess they just knew everyone in their classes were headed to college anyways so they didn't try to f*ck anyone over. Also, I went to a high school where less than a quarter of the people go on to any sort of higher education post high school...that may have contributed to it as well.
