Undead nightmare content dlc vs retail disc??

I'm a little confused by the two options of buying RDR undead nightmare content. I saw there is a retail disc for 29.99 and a DLC for 9.99. Is the DLC standalone? I do not own RDR so I didn't know if both were standalone. I wasn't sure if the DLC requires the actual RDR game, and the retail was stand alone. Any tips would be helpful! :)
 
The retail disc has all of the Red Dead Redemption DLC on it and you don't need the actual RDR game to play it. While with the online DLC you'd need the RDR disc. There's also a complete collection to download with all of the RDR dlc as well but you'd still need the RDR disc.
 
the dlc u need the game to play it but if u only want rdr undead buy the retail disc hope that helps
 
I always say go with the physical disc b/c when your done with the game you can trade it in for credit/gift cards.

The will be a GOTY edition in July too
