Understanding Gamestop's price stickers

On the price stickers on the cases at Gamestop, there are 2 numbers on the price sticker under the title of the game but above the price. The one on the left is 6 numeral digits long. The one to the right of that is 9 digits longs (6 numbers + 3 letters) Anyone who works/worked there know what those #'s on the right mean?

The six numbers is the date they got the game. That's what i figured out from seeing a guy trading some games and a week after i found them and the number was the same as the date i saw him trading them. I don't know about the letters.

Thanks GTAE, appreciate that.

Any idea on what the numbers to the right of the game's 6 digit ID on the actual receipt mean?

The one on a receipt I got reads 027/000.

the letters are the employee that printed the stickers initials. the 027/000 is just the game department number. 27-ps3 new 20-360 new, anything beginning with a 9 is used, the rest is new

I'm not really sure but i just looked at some of my old receipt and it looks like it could be based on the type of item since all my PS3 games shows up as 027/000.

Thanks for the info. I would have never thought of the employee initials.
