I, like amny others, placed an overstock order. Well, after an obscene amount of time in transit, my package was delivered today. Just one teeney problem. The fucking retarded douchebags at the post office delivered my games to the wrong fucking address. Now I have no idea where my games are, and I have no idea what to do, as their offices are closed. Can anyone help me here?
How do you know they were delivered elsewhere? - does it say it on that link to the USPS in the order?
When I go to online tracking, it says delivered at 1:48 PM. I was home at that time, and kept going outside, as i was expecting packages. It seems it was delivered all right, just not to me.

Did it say it was misrouted, or did it say it was delivered? Mine was misrouted, now it says it has left Allen Park again today, so it seems all is fine for me... I hope.

How can I pay for insurance when I ordered it from Overstock? I'm hoping one of my neighbors got them, so I can just grab them then.

And it says it was delivered, in my town.

anyone near you have a similar number on your address?

we get the mail from the next street over all the time since we have
3501 as the beginning of both our addresses

shitty deal....

right now ive been waiting 21 days for an order from eastbay. its been almost a month since i actually placed the order. apperently the post office has it, but it hasnt moved from the sorting facility yet and all they can tell me is the shipping deals were submitted electronically. meaningthey havent physically scaned the package in yet. so i checked with eastbay and i have to wait 28 business days till they will re-send the order.

so , ya good luck with that shit

It's 89, and there are 88's, 90's, 87's, etc, and I too get their mail all the time, but if I got a package, I would have returned it by now.

That is what the tracking page says as of now. Could this mean it was delivered to my local post office?

This just happened to me last week. I was sent a package from talesofwonder.com. They sent it usps and sent me a tracking number. I tracked it daily for over a week. It was always "in transit". Then one day it changed to "delivered" although the delivery date was like 5 days ago. I was at the post office the next day and showed the postal worker/clerk the tracking number and explained what had happened. He wrote down my name and address and went to the back of the building for several minutes then came back with a guy who he said was the driver for my route and he said that if it stated it was "delivered" it was delivered.
The clerk then said two things could have happened.
1) it was delivered to the wrong address which would then lead to 3 possible things happening:
a) the person who received the package decided they wanted to keep it (why not? it free for them!!)
b) they would be kind and bring it to me
c) they would mark it "wrong address" and put it back out for the postman who would then either send it back to the original shipper or send it to the dead letter office (which in my case would be in Atlanta)
or
2) it was correctly delivered to my address and someone stole it off my
front porch (the package was too big to fit in our mailbox so he usually leaves them by the door)

He said the bottom line was that I was out of luck. He said even if it was insured it would not have mattered because in "the system" it was marked as "delivered". He said there was nothing they could do for me.
He said I could file a police report for the stolen merchandise (like the police would even care about a missing $40 statue)

I ended up contacting the original shipper and asked them to credit my account if the package is returned to them, but do not really believe that it will.

If I was you I would be at the post office first thing in the morning and see if they can find your delivery man/woman and see if he/she remembers delivering the package and which address they might have dropped it off at.

I have decided to never use USPS again. Even if it costs more to use UPS or FedEx. They just seem to be more accountable.

I buy stuff off the internet all the time and have it shipped. Stuff ranging from 15-300 dollars. Luckily this package was not one of the more expensive ones.

Good Luck!

I agree - Call USPS tomorrow and let them know what happened. Perhaps there's a chance they can trace it back to the truck/driver.

Those are all possibilities about what happened to the package and it may arrive in the next few days if someone is nice enough not to keep it.

My mom's going to call and raise hell tomorrow. I also got a package from the USPS today, a game from a trade. Could it be that they mistook that game for the order, and put delivered even when it wasn't?

That doesn't seem very likely but anything is possible. Hope it works out for you.

last week it said I got a game from a game deal on the 1st of oct, but i called and they informed me since the mail is picked up by the mail man early in the morning, and my package said delievered at 2:21 pm, it wouldent come till the next day(which i did recieve it next day, so i believe its just when ur local post office recieved it, good luck to ya though, USPS is usually realllly good with priority mail, but first class i had a few things missing

I dunno their tracking is really crazy I once had an item show that it was delivered two days before I got it. And it wasn't misrouted or anything because I just happened to be home when the mailman delivered. I think sometimes they just pencil whip that tracking so they can make quotas and shit

ChrisXE -

Where did you order from? And who sent you that notification, UPS?

Most likely this is the 'warehouse', if you will, for UPS. Maybe it was shipped from the place you ordered from on the 30th, and it has to be processed at UPS, I suppose. So it should be on the way via UPS now. Hope that made sense/answered your question. You weren't very clear so I hope that helped.

Wow, one of my Overstock packages that came yesterday had been delivered to the wrong address. The nice person who received my package wrote "Delivered to wrong address, please forward" on it. Hopefully yours wasn't delivered to a crook!

Yea, this may be the one time I'm thankful for my dad's socialability. He made friends with everyone pretty much, so hopefully it's around here somewhere.

Here are hte exact updates of my tracking for USPS.com, and i ordered from overstock.com

BTW the item shiped from COlorado, and I live in VA, and i notice that 20780(i googled it and came up with a maryland zipcode, which is very close to VA) do you think thats what the facility was, wa a post office in MD?

Well sometimes the post office keeps my stuff and plays it. Damn the USPS. lol

Sometimes when i dont get something they leave a little card that says it's for pickup up at the local post office beacuse it wouldn't fit in my mailbox or that it needed a sig for it. But I live in a small ass town on a private road where I have to walk a city block just to get my mail. I also have no mail people that walk and give the mail they just drive around in there lil' dune buggy's tossing mail outta the window like "Paperboy" does with newspapers

Chris your case sounds natural mine was shown as leaving Utah for like 4 days I wouldn't sweat it.

Thank god I have not had that problem. *Knocks on wood.* My USPS employees aren't the brightest but somehow they manage to get my mail to me. My sympathies.

Great, my mom, as usual, procrastinated, and did not call today. So on passes another day, on comes another day with no games, and a smaller chance o recieve them.

I'm sorry I can't help, but the USPS aren't the brightest out there. i would have gone with some else if possible like FedEx. I know that once they were delivering me a gaming mag, and it didn't come until a week after it was supposed to and it had been ripped open and someone had read it and taken the demo from it.

Hope you get your package. Their tracking service is incredibly craptacular.

BTW, what was the order that you're missing? Any other gamers in your area that may be interested in it?

I live in the sticks, and know of only one gamer, who happens to be my friend. The order was Wario Ware, Max Payne 2, and Wild Arms 3.

Add to this recent shit, the USPS regularly opens my mail, and 25% of my magazines are ripped.

Something similar happened to me once. I ordered something for my modded Xbox and it took FOREVER. When it finally said that they delivered on their site, I was puzzled because it wasn't delivered to MY house! So my Mom called a couple days and later and turns out, for some stupid reason I cannot recall, the post office was holding it and hadn't delivered it to us.

UPDATE. Well, I looked out my window a little while ago, and a white bubble mailer was in my mailbox. I had alredy gotten the mail earlier, so this was new. I got and get it, and lo and behold, it was my Overstock games. My neighbor was having a party, so someone who went to that probably dropped them off. Needless to say, I am relieved and happy, but I still hate the USPS.

Fed Ex got my iPod from Shanghai China to Anchorage Alaska, back to Shanghai, then to Indiana in less than 3 days.
