Use original game to play platinum hits version?

Does anyone know if I can install a game, fable 2 platinum hits for example, and be able to use the original non-platinum hits version of the game to run it from the hard drive and use the dlc?
 
Definitely not. Installing to the hard drive only makes things faster, it doesn't put the DLC on there to be used with other discs. If it did, then everyone would be pirating the DLC, which I'm sure is exactly what you are trying to do.
 
You can with Fallout 3, I haven't personally tried it but since the DLC is on the disc its quite possible to install the DLC then play the game with the original version disc.
 
Yea, some of the GotY editions that have the dlc on disc like fallout 3, borderlands, and dragon age can be played with the original released disc after the dlc is installed. Fable 2's platinum hits has the dlc coded into the game so you don't install anything separate. A friend of mine has the gold edition of ultimate alliance and I have the original, so we're going to try it with that this weekend.
