Used iBook.... HOORAY!

pumbaa

CAGiversary!
So I've wanted an iBook for the longest time, and I thought I was going to be able to get a new one. Turns out I didn't get as much money as I though for Christmas, so I had to scale back a bit. I ended up searching eBay, and saw that for what I wanted... I was going to have to pay around $450 shipped... on top of fixing the shit that might be wrong with it and buying all the extras I would want. I didn't have the money at the time, so I was in no rush. So I posted on an apple forum, and some random guy PM's me with his used iBook... with all the extra features I thought I was going to have to pay extra for. I got it from him for $420. All its going to need is a new battery (which would run about $120 to $140). So totaly, $550... for something that was probably going to cost a LOT more off of eBay. Hurray for me.

woooh, you telling us you paid him first. Did he had any reference/feedback? Watch out for trolls! Don't get ripped off.

Yes, that's my concern. There are a number of people on ebay and other sites who wait for people to bid or ask questions then they come in and offer an incredibly good deal. Often its for Plasma TVs and computers, then after they get your money they dissapear.

I'm not saying that this is the case but you've really got to be careful when buying items over $200 even on ebay.
