What's going on CAGS i got a bunch of gift cards to gamestop for Christmas and was wondering how much a PS3 Slim goes for used at gamestop. If it's around $200 I think i might take a shot in the dark as long as it comes with a hard drive. So just wanted to see what you guys think and should I just be smart and buy it new.

A new one is $249.99

I'd say buy it new.

$200 @ Gamestop 40 GIG Refurbished PS3

VS.

$249.99 everywhere NEW SLIM 160 GB PS3

Wow, didn't realize they charged so much for a 40GB... especially since it's not even BC.

I bought a used 40GB about 2 years ago, a difference of about $100 bucks then, with the 10% discount it was semi-worth it. i was leary myself, and I probably wouldn't do it again.

System runs like a top though, ditched the 40GB, threw in a 320GB 7200 RPM drive, opened the system removed the thermal paste, used AS5 and sealed it back up in under 20 minutes. It's been a good system, can't say the same for the crappy Six Axxis I got with it though(randomly locks in a direction, sometimes the controller turns itself off). My Red DS3 is now my primary controller, though I'd like to grab 2 more but god their expensive($50+ bucks), rather spend it on games :)

well if it's a used ps3 slim i would suggest under $180 since i'm pretty sure it will come with it's problems, or i would just wait for some sorta deal on a new PS3 slim

I wouldn't. Especially since it's only a $50 difference. Trade some stuff in to make up the difference. Maybe during a trade 3 get $10 extra promo.

I bought an xbox a looooong time ago used at gamestop. I took it home, it didn't read discs. I took it back and they only had one more used xbox left, an ugly red home spray painted console which looked fugly. I refused it and asked for my money back. Never again.
