Anyone know how to get texture mods to work in the Steam version of ME1 with Texmod? I launch Texmod, direct it to the correct EXE, load up the various TPF files, however when in-game there is no change. I've read that Steam has issues with ME1 and Texmod, so I found this supposed fix, though it does not work for me (I realize this is for ME2, but I figured it'd work the same for ME1).

Instructions (steam version):
In order to use this, you need Texmod: http://www.gwiki.fr/download/texmod.zip
-Rename MassEffect2.exe to MassEffect2Original.exe
-Rename Texmod.exe to MassEffect2.exe
-Launch the game via Steam, it should execute Texmod instead of the game.
-Click on the folder icon below "Target Application" then select your MassEffect2Original.exe.
-Now, you need to select my package, click on the folder icon just above the red cross and select my tpf file.
-Click run to load the game. Some antivirus may detect a trojan, that's a false positive well known of Texmod.

When I do these steps, Steam launches Texmod as it should, I then direct Texmod to the "MassEffectOriginal" EXE, the game takes awhile to load (due to all the TPF files), it gets through the opening cinematics, but it then hangs on the "Press Any Key" screen and eventually stops responding.

Anyone with knowledge on how to get Texmod running on the Steam version of Mass Effect, I'd greatly appreciate your insight.

Tried it for me2. took about a min of blackscreen to load

i started crashing a lot so i just realized it wasn't worth it though :)

After some more fucking with it, I got it to actually play. However, it crashed two seconds in, telling me I don't have enough memory, which I find hard to believe (I have 8GB's of RAM and 1.5GB's of VRAM).
