He used a flat rate box. We have one flat rate envelope and 2 flat rate boxes now. The smaller box I think is $3.85 and the new larger one is like $6.85. Sorry if my numbers are a bit off, it's been a while since I worked the window. I usually work in the back. Anyway the way it works is if you use one of the flat rate boxes the fee is the flat rate as long as the box maintains it shape and can be sealed, no matter how much you stuff in it. Up to 70 pounds anyway. The PO will not deliver anything over 70 pounds since employees are not allowed to lift more than that. Also any additional services like insurance or delivery confirmation are extra.
One time at my office we had 52 pounds of materials from some brick company shipping in one of the things. It was a pain to move around but we can't stop them as long as they follow the rules.

ummm id say around $7-$8 ? rough estimate..anyone agree or disagree?
i wud recommend doing priority mail thru click and ship...cus u cud do flat rate shipping and just pay $3.85...i mailed out my ps2, 2 controllers, cables, and 4 games for $3.85

You serious? that cant be right. The USPS employees actually took your package, and didnt question you?

I don't think there is a small flat rate box (unless it's new in like the last 2 weeks). I think there is a flat rate envelope that runs $3.85 and two sizes of flat rate boxes that are both $7.70. A PS2, etc would no way fit in the flat rate envelope.
If you read gd's post he seems to be saying he printed a label from the usps.com site for one pound via Priority and then stuck it on a package he knew was more than 1 pound. Bad ethics aside, the USPS should catch that and return to sender. Though apparently they didn't catch the package video_gamer324 received in a Priority box with only Media mail postage. I hope people doing this kind of crap don't cause the USPS to rethink letting home computer user's print postage. Have some integrity people!
