Vanilla World of Warcraft?

I recently purchased the WoW Battlechest and started leveling a new character. I then realized that if I used the refer-a-friend bonus, I would be able to go 3x as fast if I asked a buddy to run me through instances while I dual-boxed the accounts. Unfortunately, I missed out on the 5 bucks/copy that Blizzard was having to celebrate their 5 year anniversary. That would have been the perfect price; I don't really want to spend another 20 bucks to get a copy of the game when I'm only going to end up transferring the character over to my main account anyhow. Does anyone know of a cheap place to get a copy of the base version of WoW? Thanks.

Amazon literally just had it for $5 for Black Friday up to a day or two ago. I think that's still your best bet, if anything.

Don't you have to pay like $20 to transfer your character? I don't play WoW, but is there any difference between having two characters on two separate accounts and two on the same account? If not, the WoW Battlechest is still $20 on Amazon and you could just go with two accounts.

Yea, unfortunately the price jumped back to 20 bucks after Black Friday. I wouldn't mind paying a one time fee of 25 bucks to transfer my character over to my main account; it'll save money in the long run rather than having to pay 2 x 15/month for both accounts. I might end up going w/ the battlechest if no good deals pop up in the next couple of days. Thanks.
