I graduate in the near future and my mom asked me what I'd like for graduation before I head off into the real world. I told her that I would like a video camera. She told me to take a look at the video cameras that are available, and get back to her on the formats, pros, cons and all that grand glorious stuff.
So, anyways, I want to make home movies. I have both Firewire and a video capture card, so that should be covered. I'd like an idea of what the current formats are, how long they have been out. A breakdown of which formats are the best and worst.
If there are any good sites out there that discuss video cameras in their entirety, that would be super awesome worthy of Kudos.
