Changing this to a FAQs for those that need some help getting these deals.

When I order online it shows X price for in store, but changes to Y price at checkout, what gives?
You can only do in store pickup for the clearance price if the item is available for pick up that day. If it isn't the price will be the online price instead. Sometimes the item will be shipped to that store if it is no longer at that store. It may adjust to the clearance price at pickup but it could also charge you full price for it.

Can I buy the item at one store and return / rebuy at another?
Yes but it is up to the stores discretion to allow you to get it for that stores in store price. If it is an online order, they are supposed to return it to the warehouse it came from so you will not be able to buy it back. It's YMMV on employees following this rule though.

Can I price match a Walmart clearance item at X store?
No. No store, including Walmart, PMs clearance prices. YMMV on getting PMs for these items but it is against every stores policy to do so.

I want to price match this clearance item at another Walmart, will they allow me to?
No WM (or any retailer) PMs the prices of other local stores.

BS said X of an item is in stock, but the employee said it isn't at my store, why did they lie to me?
They didn't. Sometimes items are misplaced, stolen, or the count is off. Employees are not all over the massive stock room nor do they know where every item is. Don't harass an employee or come on here saying they are keeping it for themselves. Sometimes, an item truly isn't in the store.

Why is BS always wrong?
BS is not wrong. Their information is directly from WM systems. Just like all stores, inventory and prices may be wrong for a certain store. Do not rely only on BS.

How do I find clearance items?
Go to the store and scan items, check SD, check this thread. Actually look for something you want.

Where in the store are clearance games located?

Clearance items in general can be on shelves, in dedicated clearance sections or in the stock room. For games specifically, they will be in the videogame glass cases, videogame value game isle or dedicated clearance section. It's random and depends on that stores layout / management.

What is the SKU or item number of this item?
Look it up yourself. There is a search function on this site, on BS site and you can Google the item almost 100% of the time. No one needs to spoon feed you this information and we shouldn't have 20 people asking for the same information that was already posted.

Acronyms to know.
WM = Walmart
PM = Price Match
TRU = Toysrus
BS = Brickseek
SD = Slickdeals

kyoya what city and state did you find this?

Curious about your motorfest copy. Is it English o ly or bilingual? I’d buy stellar of course for that price. I heard the new payday 3 is horrible, so I’d probably pass on it at any price.

Romeo,
I found this at the Wal-Mart located in Scarborough, Maine.

I didn't pickup Motorfest, so I don't know about the language options. The box art found here does not show language options, so you might want to contact Ubi Soft and ask them.

Thank you.

I was more curious about the UPC and edition of motorfest. I’ve only ever seen a bilingual edition in stores. Yet online I see an English only edition sold on eBay.

I use an app for game tracking and they say the USA retail edition doesn’t exist yet clearly it does.

I've seen both versions in Walmart in my travels. The ESRB Teen & Teen/Adolescents with some French language on the back cover.

So I went back today to see if I missed anything I really wanted and asked one of the workers what was up with all the clearance stuff. This store is getting a remodel in January so it’s all just clearing space for that. So good in the short term because cheap games but long term it’ll likely be a smaller games section. Womp womp.

Their store is actually 1 of 6 in the district that’ll be getting a remodel in January. This is in central CT.
Thanks for the in cuz I live in CT

Yea Brickseek used to be great.. back years ago I got 3 or 4 Playstation Vita TV Lego Movie game Ps3 Controller Bundles.. or Bravely Default 3ds Clearanced out at Target was nice
Also here to pour one out for Brickseek, honestly even other forums have gone downhill, there are now paid discord groups that share deals, I miss when the info was freeeeeeeee. I remember finding a bunch of DDR at Walmart and Best Buy was giving like 3x the trade value, or the wild call of duty deals at K-Mart.

Brickseek was the GOAT, got a SteelSeries 7X headset at a Walmart in BFE for $30. RIP

Kmart was the GOAT back in the day. Then it was here and slickdeals site then I started hearing about deals. Few years ago it was a bunch of games nioh collection and DMC5 etc for like $2+ and brickseek help me tracked them down. Man that changed everything but as soon I was on it it slowly faded away. Haven't seen anything like that since except the normal yellow tag clearance which you have to waste gas going to the store to check in person. I think it was Wal-Mart fault when they stop sharing data and then was the physical media dying talk.

Another one for Brickseek. When I bought my Switch it was instrumental in getting a whole bunch of stuff like Octopath Traveler, Tokyo Mirage, and others for $5 and $10 Walmart clearance. My last phone and tablet also came from Brickseek's search function.

Ya know, back in the olden CAG days we didn’t have no online inventory to search and online shopping deals were nearly non-existent. We had to search store by store and print out lists of the $5 games on clearance and bring them into the store at Circuit City.

Brickseek was pretty nice while it lasted though but even before it went down in flames the increased popularity of it meant resellers picked over stuff before you even got a chance to get to the store on your way home from work or while running errands.

BS was great, but they don't offer anything of worth now, even for paid members. Better off going on here, SlickDeals or discord / telegram groups. I'm thankful to be part of a free group though, but know others don't have the same options. At least SD and CAG are here, even if CAG is a shell of it's former self.

Though can't say I'm angry that BS is terrible now. Means the soccer moms and couponers don't get to items the second they land in store, so you still have somewhat of a chance to get good deals, if you have the leads that is.

Don’t see people talk about blockbuster enough. They were always giving insane trade in values on $5 games from toys r us. Basically preordered every PS2 game for $10 Out of pocket. Multiple rock band kits.

I don't remember Blockbuster buying games... just them selling super stickered up used games and getting some decent deals there. Especially during the Saturn & N64 period.

It's fun to think back to all the various stores that have come and gone (mom & pop rental stores, circuit city bargain bins, kmart and sears deals, eb games, software etc, ... etc etc etc) and creative ways I found to get games cheap without ever having to resort to any kind of trade shenanigans. But, I'm kind of glad that is over. I just don't have time for everything anymore and it's easier to focus on a handful or two of key series and then the occasional game here and there that seems super interesting.

There was a big difference between franchised Blockbuster stores and corporate run Blockbuster stores. The good trade values and sales were at the corporate stores if I remember correctly, and all the ones in my area were franchises.

That makes sense. I'd imagine the one we had was just a franchise. There was no option to preorder games or trade anything in. BUT, they had some solid deals from time to time.

I have a decent amount of blockbuster exclusive stuff. An employee of mine flipped shit when I told them the collectibles I have from them. Apparently some items are values in the $1,000s.

How many items you have? Probably worth more as time goes by. I wonder if old gaming magazines and old console boxes are worth something or trash and in wasting space and time with them. Also with blockbuster talk I found old receipts from them it brought back memories.

Boxes are definitely worth something since so many would just trash them right away or they wouldn't be kept in good condition.

I have about a dozen art cell with frames of video games and movies, plus the Halo POP figures. Apparently that master chief is sought after in the POP community.

Saw the following at two different Wal-Marts in my area:

Switch
Persona 5 Tactica $10

PS5
Spongebob Squarepants The Patrick Star Game $20

I didn't see Cuphead at $10 at either Walmart, but I couldn't help but notice a restock of PS4 controllers🤷‍♂️.

Saw two PS5 disc drives while picking up stuff at my local Wal Mart. Clearance stuff was the same old. They oddly restocked Forspoken. A row full at $10 each.

I dont think ive seen a single ps4 controller since before the pandemic sadly. At any store.

My walmart marked all their clearance games back up for some reason. For example, Forspoken was $10 now it's $20. I am currently playing Forspoken and I am having a lot of fun with it. They had Rise of the Ronin laying in the clearance pile with no price on it, had them ring it up and it was $70! I wonder why it was out of the showcase.

It's $38.87 on their own website. 🤦‍♂️

Edit..guess that's a 3rd party.

I pickup Lego 2K Drive for Xbox One last night for $20 at my store. Just the standard version, not the cross-gen. (Which I don't quite understand why that version exists. Both games share achievements and DLC. Not quite sure what makes the new gen version of the game different except for possible slightly better visuals and performance?)

The game was the big box version with the buildable Lego car inside. I think the stockroom must have been cleaned and they found it since there was only 1 copy and it didn't even have a shelf tag.

Beyond an excuse to charge an extra $10:
Meanwhile on the PS4 Pro, the framerate is cut in half and loading times are slightly longer. The post-processing is also reduced on the previous generation of PlayStation. Not only has all traces of bloom been removed, but the jet engine flames emitted by the cars are of much lower quality.

The most glaring change in the presentation is the use of temporal reconstruction. The artifacts associated with this technique are very glaring when compared to the more stable image being produced by the PS5. Despite all these hiccups, owners of the PS4 Pro will still be pleased with the results, even though I prefer playing the game on the PS-Quintuple.

(That’s what the comparison in this review says, anyway. Presumably the same is true on Xbox, but I only played it on a Series X and can’t speak for the XB1 experience.)

Saw more Monster Hunter Stories Collection marked down today to $30, and an odd DK Tropical Freeze for $35, gotta get that one out of the way to make way for the new remake! Also some Peppa Pig thing for $10 and Nickeloden Kart Racers Collection for $15 and Witcher III for $30 all for
:switch::switch::switch:

Saw something surprising yesterday, which I’ve posted about this before. Found Crew Motorfest PS5 for $15… entirely in English. I started investigating USA games a couple months back and found out most walmart games were bilingual, French and English. The first copy of Crew Motorfest PS5 I bought in November was bilingual, and the app game tracker Gameeye said the game doesn’t exist. The app developer then told me I bought a Canadian edition, which I disputed as USA stores are selling it nationwide.

At that point I started researching and even Best Buy sold the bilingual version. Yet online searches show an English only version too. Hence I was shocked to find that in another walmart store. I’ll probably keep both for collection purposes.

Which Paper Mario? I'm assuming Thousand-Year Door?
Yeah that's a good question since there are 2 on the switch. Ttyd and origami king.

The thousand year door is wonderful. Origami is playable and at least has a serviceable story. But the uncontrollable partner party members is a shame. The circle combat is frustrating due to time limit and setting it up each battle. And since they did away with the originals combat and such systems combat is not really fun or meaningful since.

The annoying female character fairy thing is once again terrible. Bring back Twink at least he wasn't awful. Asides from the poor naming.

P3r is almost at sub 20. Once it hits that it might tempt me.
