check out office max and staples, you can usually get one there cheap after rebate. I reccomend the ne 3500a from www.newegg.com

the nec burs every type of media, even the cheap stuff.
make sure you get a 16X for DVD+-R and one that supports DL(dual layer aka DVD9) media.

NEC 3500a, as has been stated before. Got mine from newegg, just over $60 shipped w/ 5 free DVD-Rs. It's good.

Just got this Pioneer DVR-108 from newegg.com for $78 shipped. Awesome burner...does dual layer and is super fast. Haven't burned a single coaster with it yet either:

I recommend the NEC 3500 as well. Not the cheapest, but damn sure close to it and probably the best bang for the buck. This drive will be able to anything you will ever need out of a dvd burner at 16x and dual layer.
