Hi CAG'ers.
Gosh, I hope this doesn't come out looking like spam. It isn't. Honestly. I've been a member of CAG since 2003 but just never got around to posting in the forums much (I'm a GameTZ guy and have been for a very long time).
I'm a fine art and portrait photographer located in New Hampshire and I'm in the planning stages of a new photographic series and I've decided to turn the camera on both myself and my video gaming brothers and sisters.
"The Last Spartans" will be a series of portraits that will encompass two personalities; both the off-line "Real Life" person, and the online Halo 3 persona.
http://www.thelastspartans.com
These portraits will be presented side-by-side to illustrate how "virtual worlds" and real people interact to create identities in video games and how those identities can be customized to better reflect the real-life user.
The first part of the portraits series will be traditional photographic portraiture of the subjects as they are in every day real life. The second part of the portraits series will be portraits of each subject while playing Halo 3 multiplayer complete with their individualized player armor. These sessions will be photographed and composed by me, and will be printed for photographic presentation.
What I am looking for:
o Halo 3 players in close proximity to Nashua NH (Boston, other parts of Mass, lower Maine, Vermont, Conn. etc)
o Halo 3 players who have customized their Halo 3 characters armor to their tastes and have left the armor that way (not looking for someone that changes their characters armor or helmets every other match or every week).
o Halo 3 players willing to travel to my studio in Nashua NH to be photographed in person.
o Halo 3 players that are willing to meet me in a custom game online so I can capture them for their portrait
All participants in this series will recieve a set of prints with their [real-world] portrait, as well as their [spartan] portrait. Turnaround time will be TBD.
This eventual completed series will then be shopped around to galleries for potential exhibitions.
I will have a model release that all subjects will sign before I photograph them.
If you, or someone you know, is a hardcore Halo 3 player and would be interested in participating in this series, please contact me at [email protected] OR [email protected] with the subject heading of "Halo 3 Portrait Project".
If you know any other community forums that this could be shared with, please feel free to post it there.
Again, this is just for players within commuting distance to Nashua NH. New England players only.
For more information, please visit the Last Spartans information page at: http://www.thelastspartans.com
Thanks everyone.
