I have a problem with PSN card that I bought from a regular CAGer. On redeem screen error message appears every time:

WC-40377-1

I read over the internet, that means the card has not been activated by retailer. How the hell find the retailer if it was purchased on CAG trading thread?

if there is no receipt/credit card transaction then youre probably SOL because theres no proof that it wasnt stolen. especially if you bought it from someone else. sony customer service will ask for some kind of proof that it was purchased legitimately.

I have a paypal invoice for this purchase, I paid as "goods and services". Sadly, CAG I bought from even don't read PMs.

a paypal invoice of you buying it from him doesnt mean anything. you need proof of it being purchased at whatever retailer place to prove it wasnt stolen.

I have asked paypal for help, maybe it is enough for "buyer protection" program. The seller said he bought codes from someone else and sold me. So I'm in a black hole now.

Moderator said I should leave negative feedback, and trading on the forum is on my own risk. But negative feedback does not solve my problem.

If they bought the codes from someone else, that doesn't excuse him/her of anything. They should have checked the codes when they bought them (as PSN codes can be checked before you redeem them).

With that said, PayPal is your only recourse and you should leave a neg so more people don't get screwed, even if it doesn't solve your problem.

Sadly, no. I'm checking the codes shortly after purchase and then keep them for flash sales. You are able to check for what the code is, but the WC-40377-1 appears on a next screen, once you click "Ok, redeem" button.

I bought psn codes a couple of times from https://www.psncode.nl/ , they are also in many other european countries but they are not very cheap. They are very reliable, however one time they sent me a code that just wouldnt work. They kept replacing the code 20 times or so. Actually at one point I got banned from PSN from entering more psn codes because I tried so many times. In the end they did send me a working code. They said they had their supplier send them a bad batch of psn codes that all werent activated. So yeah, I dont think there is anything you can do but you do would have a right for a refund from your seller if they dont give you a working code.

I also think your negative feedback should be removed because it can easily be verified that the psn code you bought cant be redeemed on any psn account as its not activated. Shouldnt be the buyers problem, as the buyer has no way to fix it.

I have received the refund today (paypal dispute has been resolved by the staff). But it was very unpleasant.

Big disappointment on CAG veteran who sold me the code, gave me negative feedback and said I stole it. How can I steal something that I paid for and it's not working? Pathology.
