What do we know about Driv3r?

CAGiversary!
Many of the gaming magazines claim that this is going to be of the best games ever (heard that claim before). Anyway, It has been getting slammed on the net. Anyone actually play it or have impressions (I realize that it doesn't officially get released until next week.

I think much of the hype comes from the publisher. I was a big fan of the first driver the second needed to be polished I think it will be a good game. But I think it won't sell millions maybe 1.2 tops. I'll buy it when it goes to 29.99

My only complaint is I think it has the same locations from the 2nd one.

I want new locations
where's the slamming?
check out metacritics.com and (take with a grain of salt) the gamefaq board.

Gamefaqs I don't trust for shit, so I won't bother there. Metacritics.com didn't have such bad reviews, the worst I saw was a 70%. Checking gamerankings.com, it has two decent scores from the places that reviewed it.

From what i've heard, he sidesteps 2-3 times faster than when he runs forward.. cars and lightposts pop out of nowhere (quite common in teh driver series, actually), there's no blood, you can't fistfight (which is good, as it's meant to be a driving game)..

I'm definately going to buy it.. I can't wait to do some crashes. My dad's gonna love it, too. I saw a video of an eighteen wheeler doing a turn and the trailer got detached.. freakin' awesome.

The reviews are pretty bad. It looks like the Atari trademark is being dragged through the mud...

Atari is putting out a bunch of crappy games in a month or two when they have to report a loss of earnings they will blame the gaming market instead of themselves.

Dead Mans Head, Enter tht Matrix, Superman Man of Steel, Terminator 3,Terminator : Dawn of Fate, Unreal 2 for xbox, Red Mercury, Mission Inpossible, Driver 3.

Atari deserves to go out of business maybe the next owner of the Atari name will be better.

EGM gave it 8.5, 7.5, 6.5

When I signed up for Gamefly, DRIV3R was at the top of my queue. Maybe I'll have it by the end of the week to let you guys know if it's any good.

I dont particularly care for the review "style" of gamestyle but When you start talking about PROBLEMS in the first sentence, it certainly sounds from the actual good points they made that driver 3 is FUBAR.

SAY HELLO TO THE BARGINBIN!

Yeah no kidding. Every store I've been to has ATLEAST 20+ copies of Driv3r for PS2 and XBox. It's insane. I doubt all of those copies are going to fly off the shelves with the trend of crappy reviews and word of mouth. I only sold one copy so far at my work place and I was *very* close to recommending the customer another game because of the reviews. This game will most likely drop to $30 in 2-3 months, and maybe even more after that. That's my prediction.

Atari confirmed that it has shipped 2.5 million copies so far. Looks like your number is just a little off. But I agree with you about the $29.99 thing, I'll pick it up then!
