What is a good deal on an Xbox 360?

So I have been a long time owner of a PS3, I got about 2 years ago or so when Sony was giving a $100 credit if you used a sony card at the sony store. So while having an Xbox 360 would be sweet, I am also not in any particular hurry to get one.

Now I want to get an Xbox 360, mainly because it has a few games I would liketo play like Mass Effect 2, Halo series, and what not.

So thats why I am asking for advice, how much should I expect to pay?
At what price should I jump on a deal?

I dont mind shelling the cash for an Xbox but I hate the feeling that I "wasted money" because I was too anxious, like if a better deal showed up with in a resonable amount of time (like an 80 dollar less deal, 3 weeks later). I saw a deal at dell yesterday for $149.99 + CA Tax but the reason I didnt get it was becuase one of my good buddies got an Xbox last year at walmart for 199.99 with a $100 gift card. Do these deals come around often? Or should I consider anything less than retail a deal and get it next time I see one?

thanks

So... Is that considered a good deal (for the Elite)? I was more or less wondering what a "good deal" was considered to be by you frequent shoppers, not if there were any good deals going on ATM. That BB price seems a bit steep to me at $299.99 with 50 GC especially since I never buy anythign at BB. Even if I did, its only be a ~15% discount, making the dell deal (for the arcade) much better at 25%. But then again I havent been keeping up with console prices lately.

thanks though

i think so. you might get a higher % off from dell on an arcade, but youre also going to have to get a harddrive if you plan on going online. i think the 60GB is around $100 retail.

i would check out the other comments in that thread to get a better idea of the value of that deal.
