Just out of curiosity, I wonder what this thing is worth. I've had it in a closet at my mother's house for almost 4 years. It's in a cool, dry closet that also holds my old SNES, Genesis and N64 which all work perfectly.

It includes ATV Offroad Fury 2, a Network Adapter and a PS2 50001 with one controller.

hard to tell. I don't think the PS2 collectors market is really ramping up yet. even PS1 collecting is a pretty small market at this time. Some of the rarest and lowest production PS1 and PS2 games don't demand their true collectors value yet.

If you wanted to spend a few bucks to find out, list it as a one week auction with a very high starting bid and a ridiculous buy it now. Like, $400 initial and $700 BIN.

I don't imagine it'd be worth more than that at least at this time. In 5-10 years when PS2 is considered more vintage maybe it'd increase? really hard to tell with the collector's market. It depends how much competition there is for people collecting.

digital press might be able to help you out more, those guys are hardcore.

Systems usually don't appreciate in value all that much. This was released nearly 13 years ago and only sold for $150, which is half the retail price of the system at the time (that's when I got mine).

I've seen new SNES and NES systems sell for $400-600 so maybe in a few years, the PS1 will jump too and in another decade, the PS2 might start jumping.

It might take a while for these systems to appreciate in value.

Backwards compatibility wasn't common during the NES and SNES era, your SNES could not play your old NES games but your PS2 can play your PS1 games. If you want to play N64 games you have to get the N64 there is no other way. Due to backwards compatibility I think these systems will take a while to appreciate since if someone wants to play an old PS1 game they can just play it on their PS2 or in some cases the PS3 I think. If people needed the systems to play older games I think they would be worth more. There will always be a market for those who want every system in the box sealed though.

the only thing I might see making this worth a little more is its a variant bundle version. But that's pretty deep, hardcore collecting type stuff to want to have every bundle version of the hardware..

Yeah, for example I am sure the gears xbox will be worth money in some time however I am not sure who would pick up a $400 bundle just to leave it sealed for 5-6 years hoping it would retain value or increase in value, seems like quite a risky move to me if you are going for investment value.

If you can get a system on clearance for like $30-50 then yeah if you want to do that type of thing then its no big deal.
