I played the demos for Savage Moon, Pixeljunk Monsters, Comet Crash, and Crystal Defenders.

I didn't like Crystal Defenders or Pixeljunk Monsters very much, so I'm leaning towards Comet Crash and Savage Moon. However, demos don't always tell the whole story, and I'm open to listening to opinions on which is game is the best. Also, if there's one that I missed, please let me know.

1. PixelJunk Monsters - Very addictive and the trophy challenge mode was a great way to handle the trophy patch. Avoid the encore add-on since it's very hard.
2. Comet Crash - Interesting addition of offense into the mix.
3. Savage Moon - It's easy for the last two-thirds of the campaign since a simple set-up beats any of those levels.

I'm a huge Tower Defense fan.

Although i can say I enjoyed Comet Crash and Savage Moon, I haven't played them once since I completed the games and got all the trophies.

As for Crystal Defenders.... I didn't like it much.

Pixeljunk Monsters (with Encore) is by far the best IMO. You may not have liked the demo, but the quality of the game is top notch and you'd notice once you get to the later levels.
Out of all 40+ PSN titles I have on my PS3, I've put more hours into Pixeljunk Monsters than any of them and I still enjoy it now and then. Although I beat the game and got all the trophies over 9 months ago, I still pop it in every once in while.

Either way you can't really go wrong with $10-$15 for any of the three. They're all quality releases that will be worth your money in gameplay time and fun.

PJM totally kicks my ash, I figured myself to be pretty decent at TD games over the years but for some reason I cant get the hang of it at all. Any tips?

Figure out the best towers to use for the waves you'll experience and make the best use of the design of the level as you can. You can play on Casual difficulty if you want an easier chance to beat it while seeing what you can try on harder difficulties.

What he said.

A lot of it is also trial and error.

-Always pick up as many coins before the last monster of the wave is dead so you get the highest possible percentage extra.

-Don't spend your gems to upgrade towers unless absolutely necessary especially from level 1 to level 2 (it's so quick to do it yourself). The gems should go to getting the best possible purchased tower (fire is normally the most helpful, but varies per level)

-Don't spend money building a new tower for the next wave until you get your percentage of extra coins from the end of the wave.

That's what I think of offhand, i'll be sure to post when I think of more.

I love tower defense games, but I have a question about the PS3 ones. I've played just about every tower defense game on the PC (the ones at addictinggames.com etc). How do the PS3 ones compare? Is it worth spending real money on these games since there are so many available for free on the internet?

PJM is the best, get Encore too, you won't disappoint if you're into T&D.

Didn't like CC and CD. However, i did get all of the trophies for CD (cheated). SM is pretty good, 2nd choice.
