What is THE WORST video game you've ever played?

I know you will will flame me to death but here it goes Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. For some reason i'm the only gamer on earth who thought this game was boring as hell.
Ys III on Genesis, followed closely by the Phantasy Star series on Genesis.
Ys III? Blasphemy! Phantasy Star? Blasphemy! Well, PS3 sucked, but the second and fourth in the series were both great games...

For me, it'd be any game made by Gray Matter or Hi-Tech Expressions. Oh, oh, and Bebe's Kids on the SNES.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance for Xbox.
Not only was the game repetitive, but at the end of the game, there was a bug in it and I couldn't finish it.

So far on 360 its Saint's Row. Horrible ripoff of another boring game (GTA III). Absolute worst game ever was Total Recall on the NES.

Without a doubt zelda ocarina of crap who comes very close to zelda the wind wanker i just finished the games beacuase they were zeldas but i havent touched them since then and never will a complete waste of time. there my 2 koins and nuff said.

This only holds true for non-trolls.

Dirge Of Cerberus

That was the first game ever that I just couldnt stand playing. Other games were bad, yeah, but damn, Dirge just set a new low for how bad games can be.

The worst game that I own is Captain Novolin (yeah the game about diabetes) it's also probably the worst game I've ever played. I've also played some real winners on my NES emulator I just can't remember the names of them.

E.T. for the Atari was BRUTAL.

I suppose I can give a close second to Fox Hunt for the PS1. Such an aggravating interface.

Mortal Kombat: Special Forces. *shudder*

And seriously people: Oblivion? PD:Zero? Ocarina of Time? You may not LIKE them, but if those are the worst games you've played, you obviously don't play much.

Turok Evolution

Not only was the game absolutely buggy and terrible, but it was before I knew of CAG, so I payed FULL PRICE on release day. Still to this day my worst game purchase to accompany the fact that the game was unplayable.

Man, I know your pain, I too was suckered into the purchase of the T, only for it to suck.

But, I will throw one that is worse and happens to relate to dinosaurs.

Jurassic Park: Trespasser, back when JP was priceless. Man that was a great box stacking simulation, a terrible first person survival game.

1. Addams Family for Nes (seriously the worst game ever, of all time)
AddamsFamily.jpg

2. Total Recall
3. Terminator 2 for Nes

I never had any fun playing PD:Zero. I couldn't find anything to like about it. Thereby making it "One of the worst games I've ever played". I can usually find something I like in a game, whether it be a budget title or some crappy movie licsense game, but I could not lie to myself and say PD:Zero was fun.

Morrowind for Xbox, it was a steaming pile of boring crap. I can understand this being popular on the PC, but for console games, this gets boring from the start. Yeah, I know I'm going to get asked about this, but I know other people that found it boring too.

I completely had the same experience, PDZ was the first 360 game I got, after the intial 5 minute wow that looks nice effect wore off I was bored out of my mind, while I still can't say it is the worst i've played it is definatly up there. But no my worst is still and will probably always be SUPERMAN 64 , the only game with the sheer potential to beat it that was never realized was a rom of the beta version of Robotech Crystal Dreams for the n64.

Honestly, if I made a top 5 list of my favorite games, I would put Morrowind on it. Yet, I can see why people don't like it. The game really never pushes you to do anything, and it freezes way too much, along with other bugs. I've always said the good of the game made it the greatest game ever made (at the time), but the pitfalls make it almost unplayable. Makes a very interesting combination. So, at least I think this holds a touch of merit (unlike people who throw OOT under the bus, come on, even if you hate it, it isn't the worst ever).

Worst game ever for me, Overblood for the PSX. Suppose to be a cross of Resident Evil and Tomb Raider (back when Tomb Raider didn't suck). It was honestly so bad, I almost want to buy the game back for a couple of bucks just to show people what a truely bad game looks like.

I will top all of that.

The year: 1994. Kurt Cobain had just died, and I was still in elementary school. I wanted an SNES so badly, but my parents thought the NES still had life in it. Goddamn it, I said. So my uncle took me to the local swap meet and said I could have any game I wanted. I had already bought Zelda 2, Mario Bros. 3 and Megaman 2 there, so I thought...

Nothing can go wrong.

I pick up this steaming pile of crap

To my dismay, and to this very day, that game has been the epitamy of suckitude for me. Goddamn you Nintendo. Seal of Approval my ass.

StarFox Adventures. This game is so boring that even Fox is bored to death. Dinosaurs, Center of the Universe, Talking Golen with Irish acient in a prehistoric world. After playing this game I felt like shooting myself knowing what I went threw.

This game had two sequels and one or more specials.
Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero

uuugh.
I know I'll get shot for saying this, but
I liked that game! Maybe because it was my first PS1 game or because I was obsessed with mortal kombat at the time :p

I'm guessing alot of you naming mediocre games as the worst you've played means that most of you never played alot of shitty game like myself

In line with my personal top 5 fav, here's my top 5 most hated:

1) Bubsy 2 SNES - When I was a kid I was a sucker for crappy mascots. Even so, this game blew so hard it was the first game I had ever thrown in the trash (to this day, it's still the only).

2) Disney Land NES - I don't know if that's the actiual title, but it was about exploring a Disney resort. It had the crappiest minigames I have ever played.

3) Rockos Modern Life SNES - I loved the show in my tweens, but the game seemed to be an exercise in how to make a SHITTY sidescroller.

4) Mortal Kombat 2 GAMEGEAR - This game earns a double whammy of being the worst MK game ever (including the side games) & also being the worst fighting game of all time.

5) WWF Wrestlemania NES - While this may have been the first ever WWF wrestling game, it'll always be the worse.
I know I'll get shot for saying this, but I liked that game! Maybe because it was my first PS1 game or because I was obsessed with mortal kombat at the time :p
Funny thing, it was going to be my first PSOne game as well, but the copy at a local pawn shop was too scratched up, and my dad wouldn't pony up the $20 for it. Instead, I ended up with Wild Arms, number 5 in my all time top 5 favorite

I'm sure I played a dozen or so N-Gage games that *must* rank up there in terms of sheer awful. Can't think of any offhand, however.

The Legends of Wrestling series made me want to front the money to travel to Acclaim's headquarters and kick someone's fucking ass personally. After playing both 2 AND 3, somehow expecting them to improve, I settled on kicking my own ass instead.

Yeah, that was a crappy game. Bubsy was my first SNES game I got, then a year later, bought the second game for Genesis. The second game is nothing like the first one, the horrible hit detection & short levels made it too bad to even finish the game. I traded that game into Game Crazy a few years ago and got $3 for it(which I didn't care and it went towards Final Fantasy Origins for PS1).

I was really pissed off when Acklame got the Legends of Wrestling series. Especially when Showdown came out. How you can take a game with Sting, Jake the Snake, Dibiase, Macho Man, Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Mr. Perfect and whoever else is in there and ruin it like Acklame did should be considered a felony.

I definitely know what you're talking about. While definitely not being the worst game, it definitely is a very very crappy game.

There's a lot of really terrible games out there, but the one that tops my list of terrible games that are almost universally praised is Sonic CD. Good heavens, by far the worst of the 2D sonic games (save for some of the later, AWFUL Gamegear I understand). It was slow, boring, and gimmicky with the time travel thing that rarely did anything even remotely interesting. I'd much rather play either of the Sonic Adventure games than Sonic CD.

Oh, and Back to the Future II & III for NES has to come close to the top of my totally WORST EVER list. I owned that game from the first day I owned my NES. To this day, I have NO IDEA what to do in it.
I know I'll get shot for saying this, but

I liked it too. I liked it a lot, and still do to this day.

Frankly, I didn't care for PD:Zero either. That's not what "worst game you've ever played" is asking, but whatever.

EDIT: You know, I almost forgot how much I hate some of that game: "Hey, look, I'm shooting up a guy in a button-down shirt ... how come thirty pounds of invisible armor just fell to the floor?"

I've played tons and tons of bad games over the years (unfortunately) but the one that sticks out in my head the most is Star Fox Adventures - holy shit I get angry just thinking about how much I hated that game. Awful controls, awful story, awful gameplay - they didn't get anything right.

A non-gamer friend bought The Polar Express for GC for me because they knew I liked the film. (Saw it twice in IMAX.) It's rated at like 3.5 or so on IGN and that's being generous, imho.
