What is this light gun?

My buddy picked this light gun up at a yard sale for a quarter. I have no idea what it is. It's for the genesis, but I think it's broken since plugging it in makes the screen get all weird and reddish. There's no labeling or markings on it that give me any idea who even makes it.

It's not for the Genesis. It's for a stand alone plug-n-play controller. It plugs into the main controller for games like Duck Hunt.

This one is a stumper,

I would guess its a 3rd party gun for maybe lethal enforcers, or possibly a gun for genesis clone. There are also multiple systems that connect with that connection, but its too modern looking and has a red tip which I believe wasn't an standard thing until the mid to late 80's...

wow, that's a pretty obscure item. Thanks for letting me know what it is. I guess that explains why it didn't work with the genesis.
