What ps1 titles would you like to see on the PSN

Since Cheapy and Wombat were talking about this 2 cagcasts ago, I thought it would be a good topic to bring up.

My pick would be the PS1 game IQ, this game is still fun to play even today.

It would cool to also have leader boards and online play for ps1 games downloaded.

What games do you guys think?

Not quite what you want but I'd say "all of them". :) Have you looked at the PSN in Japan? They have a TON of games already.
 
I'd like to see any titles at this point. They threw a handful at us months ago, and I don't think they've added a single fucking one since that initial batch.
 
Jojo's bizarre adventure and Rival Schools. yeah, that's never gonna happen.
 
RType Delta, Einhander, Omega Boost, Jupiter Strike, Raystorm....

You know what's a shame; [got knows I hate to say this] but if the Sony show was being run by Nintendo... we'd probably have at least 100 ps1 titles available for play on the psp, and ps3. Could you imagine if Sony releases the psp w/ about 5 free ps1 games included... that could be the equalizer... but damn.. after all this time we still fuckin wishin...

It is a lot easier for Nintendo since they've got the rights to a lot of their games. Plus Sony has a lot of PS1 titles out for the PSN- In JAPAN. Weird it is taking so long for the US store to catch up- er... get started. My guess is they are holding off to tie it into some big update.

The games would also be more expensive than they are now. Minimum $10 for a PS1 game I would bet.
 
I'm not sure what Sony is doing in the US with the PS1 releases. This seems like a gold mine they're sitting on, especially with titles selling for only $5 and playable on both the PS3 and PSP. The lack of hundreds of software titles on the PS3 makes sense at this point in its life, but the lack of PS1 titles on PSN does not. It's one mistake that I can't figure, unless they're waiting on the newly revised PSP's launch with the rumored 8gb of flash memory. I don't even think that's happening, but it's the only reasoning I could imagine why they'd do it on purpose.

I dont think we're going to see any marvel cross over fighting games from capcom, as they don't have they say they can't sell none of those games, due to activision having the license and not them.

You think Square is going to release a game for a measly $10 when they can just do a "remake" and repackage the same game for a new system for $30-$50? How many times has Final Fantasy I been rehashed? I lost count after 5.

They've learned they can just sell the same game forever and ever, just like Nintendo. The masses of fans will still pay top dollar everytime.

I wish someone would design a emulator that you could download and play like a regular psn titles.

I wonder how many fools will Buy FF 1 for the psp. Hell at least the GBA had FF 1 and 2 on a single cart

60+ bucks for FF 1 and 2 for PSP
or

10 bucks for FF 1 and 2 on DS

I forgot about Suikoden II! I'd love to get this as a PSN download.

Edit: By the way.. How do the downloaded PS1 games look? Is it exactly the same as putting in the real PS1 disc, or did they make them true 480p or anything like that?

Thirded on the Suikoden 2. Prices for that game, without instructions to boot, are unreasonably high... ;)

To me, the game I bought (Wipeout) looks "smooth"... but then again, I bought that because I didn't have the original... so comparatively speaking, it's on par with the upscaled games I've played (mostly shooters, like Strikers 1945, RType Delta, Einhander...)

Not perfect, but very good. And Wipeout is still a dang hard game to play. ;)
