Ok, I'm going on a trip again and I would like some suggestions of some NEWER PSP games. I haven't really touched it much, so my library of games is pretty limited: It includes:
-GTA, Burnout, Lumines, Hot Shots, Virtua Tennis, Grpshift, Untold Legends

I think that's all I have.

Anything else...preferabbly bugeted titles since I don't play my PSP much.

Outrun 2006 if you like arcade racers. It's not as deep as Burnout but it's really quite fun.

Capcom Classics Collection if you're into older arcade games..

If you want budget titles...I just picked up Tokobot, Medevil Resurrection and Ape Escape Academy all for $19.99 each at Best Buy (Plantation, FL) last week. Except for Medevil they were the last copies. When it comes to PSP I wait for games to drop to $20 or I won't buy them.

Megaman Powered Up

The game itself is pretty long but the ability to download user created custom levels (and create your own, yourself) makes the replay pretty much endless.

Second. My fav PSP game too. You can also play as the other bosses+Roll, huge replay value. If you can wait till the 25th, I think Monster Hunter looks like a really good game as well. As for budget games, Ultimate Block Party is supposed to be good.

MegaMan Powered Up
Mega Man Maverick Hunter
Me and My Katamrai
Syphon Filter
Daxter

If you like baseball the MLB06 the Show is great too!

Any one of these should keep you occupied for a while.

Here are games that I personally vouch for:

Daxter
Syphon Filter
Tales of Eternia
MLB 06: The Show
Mega Man: Powered Up
Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X
Kingdom of Paradise
SF Alpha 3
Ys: Ark of Napishtim
X-Men Legends 2
Metal Gear Ac!d 2

All amazing.

Get the Mega Man games and Burnout, you'll be pretty much set and very happy for a while. Get Katamari and Metal Gear Ac!d for some variety if you wish.

Thanks for the suggestions....I will continue to look for some decent games before Memorial Day.

Is Tokobot or PQ any good? I noticed those are $20 also ($17.99 used at EB)

Not in my book.

Tokobot was fun...at least IMO and PQ will make anyone feel stupid with how hard the levels are in it.

This list is awesome.

If you mainly stick to budget titles on the PSP, you're going to get nothing but shit. I mean, both the Megaman games are only $10 more then Tokobot, and I can guarantee they will be a hell of alot better (espically Megaman Powered Up, one of the best games on the system).

If you're going for budget titles be sensible, in other words the ONLY one's I'd recommend would be PQ and Puzzle Challenge. In other words I'm referring to one low cost production that can't possibly be fucked up by this as such and one that's been imported to here.
My advice is for what I've bought and WILL buy: DJ Max Portable(if you're into Beatmania), BoF3, Tales Of Eternia, Princess Crown, MMX, MM, Gradius Collection off the top of my head.
I'd recommend more but I don't know how big you are into imports. So far I've picked up Astonishia Story and Devil Summoner in those regards.

Not big on imports or RPG's. I don't want to invest a Long gaming session....just here and there.

I may try MegaMan or Exit (seems like decent reviewS)...we'll see though.
Have any of you played the GTA game or MLB 06?
Yes, I own GTA....never played MLB 06 though. I'm hesitant to play sports games on the PSP, most have sucked.

I still have some time....I'm kicking myself for not picking up the Capcom for $20 when BB had that coupon.

Contrary to the naysayers, Death Jr. is a great game.

And while some of the Simple 2500 series games LOOK fun, they are not. They are totally not worth it. Trust me, I made that mistake already.

What are Simple 2500 series games?

I did not like Death Jr....FWIW.

Thanks for the suggestions.

If you like crosswords and it has proper options for it I'd suggest Puzzle Challenge. I'll be getting it for sure so I'll tell you how it is.

I've enjoyed Legend of Heroes quite a bit. It's definitely good for a long trip. It's an old-school-style RPG with an above average storyline and some hilarious translation.

What makes for a better RPG?
Is the Pinball game worth $15....I saw SEARS had it for that price. I sometimes like Pinball, and $15 is not THAT expensive.
Wow... at this point I think you're better off selling the PSP and picking up some games for the DS (I assume you have one), since you seem to want to ignore all of its amazing titles and settle on the bargain bin garbage.

I'd not play my PSP either if I were you.

Being cheap is good and all, but you'll definately get your money's worth out of any of the $30 - $40 titles. I'd take Megaman Powered Up ($29.99) over some budget title any day.

Hey, if you want budget though, can always get that Poker game, or maybe that Detroit Hustle pool game.

I only play my PSP on trips and what not....I never play my PSP at home. I don't have a DS, I like my PSP. I was JUST CURIOUS if anyone played the Pinball game. I like a little Pinball, that's all....I don't like to pay FULL PRICE for my games anymore after seeing this site, that is why I wait on some of the titles.

I couldn't agree more.

The bargain titles for the PSP suck balls, with the exception of the Mega Man games.

Hey doubledown today I went to Sears and they had Virtua Tennis for $9.99 and World Championship Poker 2 with Howard Lederer for $14.99.

Yeah, Sears had a bunch of PSP games on an endcap, but none had prices and no one was around to ask....weird.

Thanks for the tip though. Some people are really anal about me trying to find a GOOD cheap game.
Anyone play Generation of Chaos? I just got a PSP and I'm usually a whore for any NIS stuff.
By all accounts, it is mediocre at best.

I played MLB '06 The Show on my friend's PSP the other day. It was the best sports game out for the PSP and if you like baseball you should definetley check it out. The load times aren't that bad and the game is smooth. Has multiplayer too online.
I picked up EXIT today based on reviews and the fact a puzzle game seems good to me right now.

Found it used with the EDGE card.
I've been wanting to see if this game plays well. Let me know, OK.

Anyone play MLB 2K6 for the PSP? I may rent a few games this weekend to hold me over also, since I don't play my PSP that much.

I played a couple levels of EXIT last night. IT seems like it will be fun. I haven't got into it enough, but a decent puzzler.

Yeah I've been meaning to pick that up as well, it looks pretty good, but I heard something about the animations take too long and it distracts from your score or something, what's that about?

My roomate just bought Feild Commander, I played his copy for a bit the other night (only played all the tutorial levels so far), it's pretty good, I'm going to get a copy too. :)
