it doesnt matter if you make your sauce from scratch or just use a canned sauce and spice it up i i could use ideas on how to spice up spaghetti sauce. whenever i make the stuff ( i used canned and sometimes jarred sauce) it always tastes like its missing something. maybe i need some cheese or meat or im not thinking outside of the box enough but any ideas would be appreciated.

I use basil, salt, pepper, crushed red pepper, garlic (fresh or powder), a lil' olive oil, onion (fresh or powder), tomato paste and a lil' parmasean cheese. That's if I make it fresh.

If it's from a jar, I might add some basil, crushed red pepper and cheese.

I make mine from scratch. Spices I use are fresh basil, oregano and parsley. I also use salt and sauteed garlic cloves (chopped) if those count as spices...

Sautee up a diced yellow onion, followed by a chopped green pepper. Optional: chopped fresh or canned mushrooms. Add ground beef. Once the beef is browned, add your favorite canned/jar sauce and some water or oil. Add any or all of the following herbs: oregano, basil, parsley, salt and pepper (to taste). Oregano and basil are a good combination. Let simmer until done!

Also, if you ever have leftover cooked meat (steak, pork chops, etc), add them to your sauce! Cut up into bitesize pieces, and add to the pan just before the sauce. Leftover steak is great in spaghetti sauce.

Mix it up and try different ingredients until you find what appeals to you the most!

Don't be one of those nasty fucks that puts a cup of sugar in their sauce. That shit makes me sick to my stomach.

I've had at least 3 different people do that shit, and I vomited each time.

I use Paul Newman's Sockarooni sauce (best sauce-in-a-jar) and add fresh garlic slices and a couple drops of hot sauce for a little kick.
