Hey, just wondering when everyone is planning on waiting to camp outside their B&M store of choice. I pretty much have to go to Wal-mart, since I can only afford one using my 300 dollar gift card, but apparently my store is only getting about 10. They open at 7 am, and I'm planning on heading there at about 7pm on the 21st just to GUARANTEE that I get one.

So, when is everyone else arriving at there store?

I really don't feel like going before 2am, but if I have to I will.

I talked to someone at BB yestarday and he gave the "run down"

40 systems, didn't ask the ratio but he mentioned most are premium (ovbiously). They will be handing out tickets, he said as soon as people arrive they will get tickets. I'm going to assume they will start handing them out at store close, and then 2hours before the store opens.

I figure i'll scope Target / BB around 5PM, 7PM, and then 12am. It's only 4 miles away anyways. I probably won't have to go until 12-2am... but who knows. I thought my area was pretty small but when I saw a line of 150 people waiting for starwars 7 hours early you never know nowadays.

have fun waitin, you goin to the one in Fairless Hills?

I'm still debating whether I should buy one or not. Around my area, launch systems don't typically sell fast, being that the general public around here isn't to gaming conscious.

6 am, with a hot cup of black coffee in one hand, krispy kreme and a cigarette in the other. breakfast of champions.

I also am getting mine at wal mart. they are supposed to have a midnight sale but as far as I know mine is not.

My wal mart is only getting 4 premiums in, which sux cuz I know of 4 people who are buying a premium at launch counting me. Thats not counting the rest of the people in town that may want one. So I am probably going to be out there arond midnight with my 2 friends playing our GBA's and DS's all night. I think that should be early enough.

that is exactly how my town is, but like I said my wal-mart is only getting 4 and I know 4 people that want one, so I am not taking any chances.

I'll go to a midnight Wal-Mart around 9:00 PM possibly earlier if they're getting in less than 20, there is also a 24 hour Super K across the street.

I'm going to Hastings around 8 to do recon. I planned on going around 10, but it depends if a line has already formed.

this is about the 360 launch. I'm was planning on buying one @ Target. There are 3 targets in a 5 mile radius of my house. Does anyone know if they sell extended warrantees @ Target. I know Walmart and BB does, but not sure about Target. I was planning on starting to check things out about 8 or 9 pm Monday. I was told at the Walmart by my house, they aren't doing a midnight release, but the Sunday paper had a Walmart add, and it specifically state, "your local walmart will be open @ 12:01am on Nov 22". So I'm going in tomorrow with the add to confirm that they will be open at midnight. I really hope I don't need to camp out, but I guess you have to do what you have to do. Since I already reserved and paid for PGR3 for 22 bucks, I have no choice.

I think I'll be going at about 2am. That's when I got in line for my Xbox back when it launched. Stupid thing is that I'm actually excited to go wait. Waiting for the Xbox was so damn fun...tons of college morons waiting in line = bliss for a young 15 year old at the time. Now that I am a college moron myself I plan on spreading the bliss.

Of course...I got there at 2am for the Xbox and I was 2nd in line...and the 3rd person in line didn't show up until 6:45am...but hey, whatever floats yer boat. Gave me a chance to listen to a lot of Tool.

just got news from one of my friends who works at wal-mart. The 360's are in the back of the wal-mart as we speek. and as he told me they only have 4 premiums.

Nextly he said one of his other friends at wal-mart will be getting a 360 so that is now 5 people and only 4 360's. and 2 of those people work at wal-mart so they get 1st dibs. so me my other friend and this one guy I know that work at blockbuster have to fight it out for the final 2 360's along with the other campers outside of wal-mart.

:(

Yeah, I don't wanna get shot waitin outside of the Bristol one :)

But yeah, like alot of people said, I don't mind waiting early as long as it GUARANTEE'S me one. I'd hate to not get the system and have to wait for however long because I was to lazy to wait a couple of extra hours.

yea, I'm with you man, waiting 5 or 6 hours, is a lot better than having to wait months for more consoles to show up (which is what is being predicted).

I am trying to get one where I work (Meijer) and will get there around 10pm and wait until midnight when they sell them. If I can't get one there since we only got 4 premiums, I will just stay up all night and go over to BestBuy around 6 am and wait for it to open.

if a big line starts to form I will get a little "pushy" I will be 1st in line. my friends get off at 10:30PM and they will just wait outside there after work, and I'll bring some burger king or something for food. so I am pretty sure I'll be 1st in line. and plus I know damn well I am faster than anyone else that will show up there as I am a gamer/athlete. mostly gamer now as high school is over. But I can run a 4.7 40 yard dash. so I WILL be the 1st one back in electronics either way.

I was unaware those two could coexist.

I'm going to show up sick early at whichever Best Buy is having a midnight launch. Then, at maybe 1 am or hopefully before, I can be out of there and go to camp a regular 8 am store like Target. I'll be playing Mario Kart, hopefully they'll be someone to play with. DS in a line to camp 360, is that a mismatch?

I hope things turn out like the PSP launch... where all B&M had it in stock for almost a whole week before 1st shippment was gone...

but the hype is crazy rite now... who knows whats goin to happen...

PSP had whispers of defects and was released in the middle of nowhere timewise. Plus it was a portable = less in demand compared to a console in general.

If Elder Scrolls IV was a release title...I would buy one to keep.

Well, the PSP launched with 1 million(?) in the middle of March. The DS launched with a million and was plentiful until a week or two later when Black Friday hit. And lets face it, the DS wasnt even a hot product, and it still sold out. One Million is just not enough to satisfy people come time for the consumer holiday season.

Maybe the topic needs to be made "Are you bringin' straps?" because poor white kids get crazy when Mom and Dad won't front them the next 6 months worth of allowance.

You know after reading some of these post, you should also consider walmarts in out lying areas. I live in west texas and have about 3 in rural (and not very financialy well off towns) that all have a small walmart (and I mean small), so you may want to think outside the box to get one, because if they are going to get any, it isn't going to be very many, and not many people will be there at all, Joe.

I'm sure the system will be pretty cleared off within a few days.. but not the 1st day...

I live close to Grand Rapids, MI... and the last gen lanuch... this has never happen...

But I'm very interested to see whats goin to happen... I live about 5-10 mins range away from 20 different retailers... I pretty sure I'll get one...

Goin to have a BBQ outside CC...

Thank gods for Zero Hour, no more camping for me yay! now I can play PDZ 32 player deathmatches instead of waiting in line :D...

or maybe the case wait in line to play PDZ 32 player deathmatches 0_o....
I'm gonna be embarrassed when all these 18 year olds kick my grandpa ass
have fun waitin, you goin to the one in Fairless Hills?
I also live in the area. Months ago I pre-ordered a 360 at the gamestop right next door to Walmart.

My Walmart said they're having a midnight opening and will be handing out tickets. That being said, I plan to get there fairly early in the afternoon (I'm thinking about 2-2:30 PM on the 21st to see what's going on and to see if I can get a ticket) If that goes well, then great. I figure getting there early in the afternoon will enable me to beat the kids getting out of school and the people getting off from work. If that doesn't work well, I plan on getting up at 5-5:30 AM to camp in front of Target, Best Buy or Circuit City (whoever has the smallest line) If THAT doesn't work well.... I have a second shipment preorder at EB :)

i'm camping out also....i dont even know why i'm doin this...maybe coz of all of the hype. i'm actually excited just to buy the 360. i dont even own an xbox right now and never been really impressed with the games of the 360. i just want the system on launch day....i guess just to have one.

I have to check with Wal-Mart to see if they are even having a midnight launch. Hopefully they do, so that way if I get in line around 8 pm I shouldn't look like a total fool. If I don't get a 360 at Wal-Mart and they do have a midnight launch, I'll just go to Best Buy and wait until 9 am. So that way, I get 2 chances at getting an Xbox 360. That's my plan thus far.

Damn man, keep talking like that and MS marketing people will be all over you. You'll become their new "Customer Zero". :)

Uhh that's all fine and dandy but walmart is passing out tickets. They even had the pictures of the tickets on Kotaku.

So how did you get to be such a fast runner? You do realize your parents were kidding when they told you to go run around the house when you were bugging them about being bored.

probably goin to drop by best buy at around 5 or 6am just before i head off to work on the 22nd if I get one great and if I don't then oh well

My local Target opens at 8 a.m, they are giving out the tickets at "about 6', so I'll be there at 4 a.m. There is also a KMart and ShopKo within a block of Target, so if the line at 4 a.m. is big (I highly doubt it, Austin, Minnesota dies at 10 p.m. and doesn't wake up until about 7), I'll go to ShopKo or KMart.

I plan on stocking up on reading material, since i don't have a portable game system or stupid iPod to listen to. I am basically going to park as close as possible in the parking lot, and as soon as I see someone else drive up into the parking lot, i'm getting out of my car, grabbing my lawn chair, and putting it right smack in front of the doors. I am also gonna stash a baseball bat in the back of my car in case the situation calls for it.

Good ass call. Nothing like nerd bashing!! (I know that I'm a nerd before i get flamed)

I'm probably going to line up at Target at about 5 or 6 am. I hope that's not too late but I'm gonna get home really late the night before and I want at least 4 hours of sleep.

wow, it just dropped tonight in chicago. probably hit below zero over night. that would suck if it was like this on tuesday morning. on the other hand, it would scare a lot of people away from waiting. I could just chill in my car listening to tunes until the time came. :)

would best buy give out tickets also ? I think imma head over to my local best buy at around 2 am dunno any tips for big city folks ?

Yes, I am hoping for killer temperatures on the morning of the 22nd. People here in MN are pussies, they won't do anything if it gets too cold. But the forecast is for upper 20's to lower 30's, which isn't bad considering the time of year. I'm ready for it though.

This shortage is really making me nervous. I know that if I can't land one on Launch Day, I might not get one for a long time. Maybe I'll bring an extra $100 with me just in case someone wants to sell me theirs for a $100 profit. Or they can negotiate the price with my friend Lou.......isville Slugger.

ya after thinking it over me and my buddy are gonna get the closest prking spot to the door, and just chill in my car with the heater on playing some DS and PSP, while rocking out to some tunes. And this parking spot also has a ood view of the door so once a line starts to form we'll get out and be first in line and tough it out in the cold.

wow, i'd expect minnesotans to be tougher than that. Not like people in Arizona-- when I was living in Prescott, they closed down the schools after about 3 inches of snow fell.

parking by the door is the way to go. you may not have to get in line until the very last minute. the slugger would be more fun though ;-)
