I just got a brand new phone and I'm messing around with it's blue tooth transfer capabilities. So far I have this song on my phone:

I'm just wondering what you CAGs have for video game ring tones or would have on your phone.

Please be time specific since most ring tones have to be 30 seconds or less anyway.

Some mp3's I have on my comp:
  • Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children
  • Final Fantasy VII OST
  • Katamari Fortissimo Damacy
  • Kingdom Hearts OST
  • God of War OST
  • Mario/Zelda Big Band Live
  • SSBM OST
  • SSBM Live!
  • Zelda: Majora's Mask OST
  • Video Game Pianist
Any recommendations?

I have Verizon, and they make it reeeally hard to create your own ringtones.

My current ringtone is the Super Mario Bros theme.

But if I could make my own, or if they offered game related ringtones theres two I would love to have.

The little 'we just won the battle' jingle from Final Fantasy.

and the 'I just found something cool' jingle from the Zelda games.

I have Verizon as well and it's not difficult at all to make ringtones if you have a bluetooth capable phone and a bluetooth capable computer. There's a free program out there that makes it very easy to create and transfer stuff to your phone (I can't remember what it is called at the moment). I've made a couple LocoRoco, Katamari, and Castlevania ringtones for my LG Chocolate, but right now I'm using "White & Nerdy".

You could keep your ringtone as something normal. Changing your ring tone to a video game theme oozes subhuman levels of nerdiness. Having said that, if you're going to go with anything get the Phoenix Wright dropping the hammer song. You know, the big reveal song where he drops the hammer on whoever he is trying to get into a contradiction.

QFT. The only exception I've seen is if someone has a remix-super mario bros ring tone, because it's one of those "old school" things a lot of people can find to be pretty cool.

See, there's the difference, I could care less what other people think is a cool ringtone. I make ringtones of things that I like and that I find amusing.

My phone has Phoenix Wright yell, "OBJECTION!" and then plays one of the fast-paced in-court songs from the first DS game. :)

My phone used to play the theme from CHiPS... yea, not video game related, but better than 99.99% of all VG ringtones.

Yes, and mrs. shipwreck can't stand the "White & Nerdy" ringtone.

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately I dont have a bluetooth capable pc. I got the chocolate tho. And I plan on building a new desktop in the spring, so soon...

I also couldnt care less what people think of me or my ringtones. Anway, I keep my phone on vibrate 95% of the time, cos ANY ringtone is annoying when its going off on the bus or train, in the store, etc...

And Mrs. Puffa doesnt care about my Mario Bros ringtone one way or the other. She has Jefferson Airplane for her ringtone! lol

I used to have Locke's theme on my other phone, but not anymore. Sounded perfect too. Now it's just vibrate only, all I have is Doom and Starfox. Whenever I get a much better phone with mp3 ringtones, I'm going to pick the most obscure, neardy stuff. Always wanted 7th Saga's battle song. I've got lots of ideas.

Its not for a ringtone but I put the Power Rangers communicator beep for when I get texts. I also have the Metal Gear 'Alert!' sound for when I have a voicemail. Everyone loves the Power Ranger one.

i was going to reccomend that too.

if i could choose any game ringtone......knowing me..it would be something awfully cheesy like the SFII world warrior theme....

The Power Rangers thing is brilliant. I will stealz it.

does anybody have any way of getting the oldschool Final fantasy crystal music on a verizon phone? That's my ultimate wish for a ringtone.

I used to use the old school Final Fantasy victory music as my ringtone for my friends, and the Final Fantasy music when you encountered a random battle for people I didn't want to hear from.

Shipwreck was saying earlier that if you have a bluetooth capable Verizon phone, and a bluetooth capable PC, theres an app that you can use to turn any mp3 into a ringtone. So it can be done, but requires some specialty equipment.

dat's cooler than a mgs codec blip for a ringtone

If your PC isn't blue-tooth capable, you can always get a Blue-Tooth Dongle between $20-$30. It looks just like a flash drive. Usually with those dongles a simple transfer program comes with it. Works perfect with a blue-tooth capable phone.

Tecmo Super Bowl on mine.

If you have a Razr & Mini-USB cable , dl Motorola Phone Tools and make any tone you want.

I have "Objection~2001" from the first Phoenix Wright game, sometimes switch it out with "Objection~2004" from PW3.

Both from MIDIs I made myself. :)

And also the Burning Rangers theme.

I totally agree.

mobile17.com works really well for sending stuff to your phone over the internet.

That's how all of my friends get their stuff on their phones. Sadly, my phone is too old for that kind of stuff, or i would have had FF6 battle music on it.

Right now, my ringtone is me saying "your phone is ringing"

it's fucking annoying.

I used the composer and an online site to make the Final Fantasy victory music as the ring ton for my first phone -- an old-ass Nokia.

My default tone is the Sega CD2 startup song, and my voicemail notification is the intro to Katamari Damacy with the "nah nah nah" singing.

I have a RAZR, and can make any MP3 into a ringtone. Non-gaming stuff I have includes Eminem's "Ass Like That" when my wife calls, Danzig's "Mother" for my mom, and the Who's "YEAHHHH" yelling from CSI Miami when I have a text.

[quote name='JEKKI']omg where do u get that from?!?!?!

I thought I had a compressed (MP3) version of it, but I guess not. And I'm too lazy to do so, but I've uploaded it in its WAV version. It's 30 seconds long with a little dead air at the end so it doesn't repeat.

Enjoy! :)

true, its not too hard if your phone supports bluetooth or you get the datacable for it. One of the things I did before I bought my phone (LG8300) was to make sure it was hackable and that the datacable was avalible. Its great having a removable/upgradible transflash port in the phone so I can store music/videos and enough internal memory to store a bit of sound/music for the ringtones.

I have the intros for Zelda:WW and MP2:E on my phone, but I use Ruiner by NIN. I think Rave On (killer7) would make a cool ringtone...

I have a Razr and Verizon. Through 'get it now' Namco has a decent selection of ringtones. I almost got the Tales of Symphonia battle theme, but went with good ole SMB. It gets a lot of comments (good and bad).

Question on the Razr and making any MP3 a ringtone....how do you do that?? What equipment and/or software do I need? I'd love to have some FF tones and what you did with 'Mother' is funny as hell!

Awesome! I added a few more ring tones:

  • SMRPG - Smithy Battle
  • Chrono Trigger Theme
  • FF7 - J-E-N-O-V-A
  • FF7 Victory Fanfare
  • FF Prelude
  • FF7 - One Winged Angel
  • Super Mario Bros. 2 Main Theme
  • Super Mario Bros Main Theme
  • Zelda LttP - Treasure "Jingle"

I have the good ole SMB main theme. It'd be nice to have Parappa, but I'm too lazy to get that on there.

I use a program called Mobile Phone Tools 3.23. Motorola sells it for something like $25, but with a little Google time, you may find it for free. Then you just patch the phone into your computer via USB, and start cranking out MP3 ringtones. I use Audacity to personally crop and tweak the sounds to get just what I want -- fade-in and all that stuff. Just make sure to tone down the volume, or it'll be way too loud on your phone.

Another ringtone I use is Devo's cover of "Workin' in a Coal Mine" whenever one of my editors calls.

thanks for the info, Violent Lee! I dl'd both the motorola tool and the mp3 software. now i just need a usb cord for the phone. i may have one, just have to look for it. if not, i can probably pick one up at best buy or something.
