What's the difference between used and previously viewed at gohastings?

From my experiences with gohastings - used usually means owned by a person and it was traded in. Previously viewed was a store rental. I try and buy used, they have been handled by fewer people. A few of the previously viewed games i bought had rental stickers on them
 
as the other said, used are trades, pv are ex-rentals. ex-rentals all have a sticker in the shape of a ring around the center of the disc.
 
From my experiences with them, the PV copies are usually in worse condition than used. Since more people have handled the discs. It also be mentioned that it's a toss-up on which one you'll get if you order from them through Amazon. Because they do not state in their listings if it's used or previously viewed.

Kinda off-topic, but wanted to ask here instead of creating a new thread. Do they send an email when they send out a replacement copy of something?

Because I ordered a DVD, but only got the case. Called around tuesday and was told I would be sent another copy. I haven't received an email saying the replacement was sent. I'm just wondering if I should do a follow-up or not.
