No the best deal YOU have ever gotten - we've done that topic to death. What's the greatest deal you've ever heard of anybody getting on games?

I met a guy who worked at a Dollar Store in St. Louis 10+ years ago. He comes in to work one day and lo and behold, stacks of SNES games. He immediately took the day off, drove from store to store, and loaded up. Then he sat on them until approx. 2 years ago when he started selling some of them. He had been a little picky about getting "good games", and had hundreds of them.

Among the games he had multiple factory sealed copies of were Dracula X and Ninja Gaiden Trilogy. Seems like he had Evo and Mario RPG as well. $1 factory sealed SNES games. That's the best deal I've heard.

That's one of my favorite deals!!!

Video game related, I liked getting the free games from BB with the $5 off coupon, I think it was just so sweet cuz it was BB, and some games had a free pizza too!

That's awesome! Where do I get one of those?

Apparently you don't have a girlfriend or wife... cause if you did you'd know that they sex is never free. :)
if you get a girlfriend or wife, you get free sex pretty much whenever you need it
I'm not sure I'd call it "free" . . . alright maybe with a girlfriend but definitely not with a wife. But now I'm remembering college "girlfriends" . . .

As for the "whenever you need it" . . . you obviously not been married :)

Best deal ever? . . . I found $5 in the street once (18 years ago) when I had just been wondering what I was going to do for money for the next two days. What could be better than that?

Apparently, YMMV.

The dad of one of my friends bought a 2003 bmw 325i for $200 (back in 2003). He bought it from a woman who had recently divorced her husband. The court ordered the woman to either give the car back to her ex-husband or to sell the car and give the proceeds back to her ex-husband. She chose the latter...

Sheeeeeeeit.

Yeah, once you have a girlfriend for more than like a few months, then sex stops being free.

I'd have to say I cashed in pretty well with the Trade 3, Get one for 5 at Gamerush deal. I haven't been able to get in on any of the other deals, so, that was my favorite.

My 40 gig Ipod for $60 is the best CAG deal I've gotten and one of the best if not the best deals I've heard of on CAG since I've been here.

My best deal is that I found $20 at the base of my Maple tree in the front yard. It was a windy day and no one was around. The tree has not produced any more money however.

hmm when my grandma just decides to tell me i dont have to pay for my ticket for the 2002 Fiesta Bowl...yeah tickets on the 40 yerd line half way up just where you can see everything beautifully. Saved me 500 dollars and that was a trip and a game ill never forget!

Oh yeah and when i was little and would get a free cookie from the bakery at the grocery store obviously.

Chrono Cross, Mario RPG, Earthbound w/ Strategy Guide, FF II, FF III, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Breath of Fire II (I think) all with boxes and instructions and Also Lufia II cart only for like $50 at a flea market. When I saw what the guy was selling I almost shit myself as I reached for my wallet. Apparently they were his games but he didn't know what they were worth.

An SNES system, Mario All Stars, Tetris and DR. mario, Wario's Woods and I think some other puzzle game all for $20 was a decent deal from Goodwill

Also, I had pre-ordered the Starwars Trilogy DVD from a certain e-tailer but later cancelled. They sent it to me anyway and didn't charge my credit card. I suppose I could try that scam again but that isn't my thing (not that I was trying to scam in the first place it just happened that way).

Bought books at a book store for college. i returned one bokk and they somehow replaced the money twice. so i got an extra 90 dollars. I also got a free psp using the freepay site here. but i dont know of any other deals that other people get except the workers at my gamecrazy. they tell me how the store lowballs people so they offer a bit more and get good rare games really cheap.

Working at a pawn shop totally kicks ass. Ipod 30gb for $75, new laptop for $250, as many dvds as i can watch $3 each, NES top loader FREE (just had to trade my older model), stupid drunks pawning off their snes rpg collections for $0.25 each just for me to pay $0.50 for them, I love it! If anyone can get a pawn job, it's worth it.

I also had this guy who needed cash for the casino boats buy $100 Speedway gas cards with his credit card and I'd give him 50 cents on the dollar for them. That was one of my best.

That's the first thing that popped into my head when I read the topic title. It's just an insane find.

 that is fucked up.

The best deal I ever heard of that I actually got on was the Final Fantasy XI w/HD on clearance at CC for $38 and I bought the last one in the store and employees at the store got mad because they didn't even know that it was on clearance (Also funny because I actually told the employee how much it was because of finding out about it here on the site before he looked it up and he just shook his head and told me they couldn't sell it to me at the clearance price.) Funny thing is as I was paying for it the employees went on their stock computer and found out that the closest store to the one I was at that had one in stock was 30 miles away.

$32k for selling something I didn't even own really...I had a lease in an office and someone wanted the space..I negotiated to get $32k and they even moved me to a new place. :)

For a little hassle I was $32k richer...funny though cuz the guy that gave me the check went to jail a year later for embezzlement. He was a laywer and stealing milllions from clients to satisfy his new hooters girlfriend....it was in the news even. He was a good guy but this trailer park trash chick ruined him.

Best deal, How about the free Xbox 360 I am getting from Mt. Dew? :)

On a serious note, I was looking at completed auctions on e-bay and some guy sold a mint complete copy of valkyrie profile with the strategy guide for $12 as a buy it now price...

Back when I was at Microsoft, stock options were a great deal, especially before the stock split... I know numerous people who made a million or two from that alone.

Now, in the city, I know lots of people who invest in real estate. Again, a number of friends and acquaintances have made millions from that racket.

For me, the best deal was law school and the salary that has come as a result of it.

Oh yeah, and once I got a copy of Suikoden II for $20. :)

Better yet sex while she's playing Final Fantasy X

I bought a full-sized WWF Superstars machine, fully working, for $25 at an auction a few years back. That's the best gaming deal I know of personally.

RD
haha i never heard about that deal. I doubt that one to be true. SN games factory sealed for a dollar, to unbelieveable. CC clearance for $5.00.
My Dollar Tree had Quake 3 Arena's Sealed and A ton of N64 Games/Accesories
Apparently, YMMV.
I actually laughed at that.

GO BUCKS!

Best Deal for me is having 2 brothers that frequently purchase video games :D

Best deal I've ever heard of was back on GameTZ when Midnight Club for PS2 just came out, yeaaars ago, around PS2 launch. I was like, thirteen or fourteen, and I had never traded on the internet before.

Lo and behold, I traded complete copies of FF3, FF2, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Uniracers, Pocky & Rocky, Saturday Night Slammasters[ all SNES ], Sonic Adventure, R2R Boxing , and Mortal Kombat Gold[all DC] for an opened copy of Midnight Club.

Back then, FF3/FF2/CT sold for $100+ each complete, SoM around there. All the DC games still had $30-40 trade/ebay value.

-_-

Wife, no way its free

girlfriend....you get what you pay for. Dinner, gifts, movies, etc, i dont count that as free!

stranger....maybe you pay for a drink or 2, a condom, something you broke at the party.....or maybe you pay by getting an STD X_X

Sex is never truly free, unless you have sex with a hooker because you see, you dont pay a hooker to have sex with you. You pay her to leave after your done having sex.

I was pretty happy getting a Dell $2500 laptop for $700 after their website made a configuration mistake. I kept thinking they were going to charge my card in intervals....never happened.
My best deal is that I found $20 at the base of my Maple tree in the front yard. It was a windy day and no one was around. The tree has not produced any more money however.
Simpsons did it! Did you use it to buy a Squishie made entirely out of syrup? ;)

Finding $40 on the ground was pretty sweet back when I was struggling to pay rent.

My boyfriend finding an entire stack of games at the University of Buffalo that were used as props in a theatre production that were then given to him for free was nice. Half the games were crap...but they traded in well for the Arc the Lad Collection.

Getting all the latest releases for 75% off at KB when we closed down. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Mario Double Dash, Metroid Zero Mission, etc. Good thing I hid them before we hit 50% off and a fleamarket came in and bought all 900 or so games we had in stock.

Purchase of penny stock a few years back: $100

Sale of penny stock a few years back: $400 proceeds

Realization that my investment would now be worth ~$20,000: Priceless

There is a show on TLC I think it's called mostly true stories. I believe they stated that this has actually happened once. It was in the 50's though. I love this UL. Its a good one.

Hmmm best deal for me would be getting a cart only chrono trigger for 1/2 hour worth of easy work. Arc the Lad collection at TRU for $35. Or getting a slim PS2 for $1.85 plus tax. McDonald's sony contest.
