What's up with irresponsive online store representatives lately?

Starting from a few months ago, Outpost and BB stopped replying to 90% of my emails of any nature (from product availability to order status to cancellation). The very few responses I got back sounded clueless beyond common sense, such as asking me for my order# when it's clearly in my email body, or they needed 10-15 days to research because it's a complicated issue.
 
Its the holidays and they're busier
edit. It would have been funny if no one responded to this :lol:
