When can we expect the Gamepad to be sold individually?

I'm considering buying a Wii U without the Gamepad and just using the Wii mote for now. Is Nintendo still planning on releasing the Gamepad individually later this year like previously stated?

I don't know. I don't believe anything concrete has been said. But if they do, it will probably cost $100-$150.
