Where do you bank?

Coastal Federal Credit Union.
Totally free checking--one time, 1.00 membership fee. Plenty of other discounts/benefits. Discount movie tickets, they used to have free cashiers checks [now they're 1.00], etc.
The one thing they don't have, at least our branch, is safe-deposit boxes.

I buy my checks from BJ's Checks. If you are a BJ's member, and don't some special 'cheap checks' deal from your bank, definitely check them out. They don't have a lot of designs, but come on, it's a check. www.bjschecks.com 600 duplicates for 21.00, free shipping. We use the debit card a lot, but sometimes I like the 'paper trail' checks leave.

I'll probably sound like a 12 yr old for saying this but I just can't stop laughing at a place called BJ's. It's puerile and immature humor but it's still damn funny.

I don't know if they are everywhere, but there is a restaurant chain in CA called "BJ's". There's nothing funnier around lunch time than having a female co-worker ask you if you want to go out and get some BJ's... classic! :D

Oh yeah ... Missouri Bank for business. And I still have a 5/3 Bank account with about $2 in it even though there aren't any branches within 300 miles of here.

Commerce Bank- like the no fees, hours and branch locations. The interest % is abysmal, so I hedged myself by buying some commerce stock

Is it in an interest bearing account? If it is, for all you know it could be worth hundreds by now.:bouncy:

No, just a standard free checking. I still get monthly statements, but I haven't touched the account in almost 3 years.

My wife works at Disneyland. How is Vista? We use Wells Fargo now.

You may want to either deposit some cash in there, or close that bad boy. I used to have an account at First Entertainment Credit Union for years and NEVER touched the thing. After about 3 years, they sent me a letter to inform me that if my account didn't have any activity in the near future, the goverment would close the account and seize my funds! :hot:

I put some cash in there to shut 'em up, but a few years later with still no activity and they sent me the same letter again. I guess big brother figures if you haven't used the money then you must not need it, so he'll just go ahead and take it from you when you aren't looking! Uncle Sam ain't fuckin' around!

Vista is okay. The interest rates on their saving accounts are much better than normal banks, but no better than any other credit union. The only bitch is that they only have 1 branch in the San Fernando Valley. So you better live close to Burbank, or you'll be paying ATM fees out the ass everytime you need some cash.

it's true
i work at a credit union and we have to send the state funds that are untouched in like 5 years. at least take a penny or deposit a dollar every year or else the state will have your cash though you can always ask the irs for it but why go through the trouble when the cash is yours
