Ive read through all the other threads, I think ive even started one or two in the past.
heres where im at now.

I have the ax 180's after 10 minutes of use my head is sweaty and my ears are baking, im
always having to fiddle with the chat cord into the controller because my friends complain
theres a problem with my sound.

Ive had ax 720's, turtle beach x11's and just today I picked up a pair of turtlebeach x41's
I decided I wanted a better headset and the wireless feature sounded good, so i bought the x41's.

Im posting this because I paid $218 after tax for these things and they feel extremely cheap.
the build quality of my ax 180's are much much better.
basically I have zero faith in these things lasting long enough to justify their price.

Im strongly considering going back to the ax 720's for $130
im also looking at the ax pros for about $170
I thought the 720's sounded very good when I had them originally
and im not sure the pro's are worth the $40 extra.

Anyway, sorry for the long post but I wanted to be thorough.
let me know if anybody has experience with these headsets or opinions. much appreciated.

edit - ive tested the x41's and didnt care for the fit or sound quality.
the mic didnt work out of the box on the ax pros, they were a bit hot on my head and the sound wasnt all that great either.
the decoder box wasnt that nice either, plastic was cheap, cords were coming out of 3 of 4 sides of the box, and there is no way to tell where you are in the range of adjustments.
those things along with the mic going out on my ax 180's and numerous reports of mic problems on other forums eliminated tritton from the running.

For locally available headsets, I think the tb dx11 or the x31 with dss is the best way to go.

Gonna bump this because I could use some opinions.

I decided to go with 595's and the mixamp. Im having a difficult time finding information on mics used with the 360. I was planning on getting the zalman mic but read a post somewhere mentioning that person didnt want to get it because of it not working well on the 360.

I want a good mic, i just cant seem to find info that relates to the 360.

I had the wireless halo one when they launched and it just died a few days ago. =[ Won't power on or charge.

Despite that, I recommend one of those type. May not last forever, but go the job done.

I appreciate the recommendation, though Im looking for a wired mic to use with the headphones and mixamp.
