So I'm visiting my Mom who lives in California, and I stop by a b&m gamestop to see if they have Jet Force Gemni for 64 as my local one has one copy but it's fubar. As soon as I walk in they tell me hi and that they're there to help should I need it... ok I'm thinking to myself. So I ask if they have JFG, and instead of actually telling me if they have it or not they tell me to look in a display stand full of games and that IF they have it it will be there, OK thanks for the help? Not finding it I ask if they have any sales going on, apparently not because I can always get the "card" for a 10% disco !! Thanks for totally dodging my question a$$-douche, memorial day sale? no mention. I overhear the guy say metal slug 4 came in, I asked how much it costs and he responds with "there's probably not enough copies other than pre-orders" crap, OK I don't care if you can sell it to me or not I'm simply asking the price. Maybe driving alone for 6 hours got to me but I have never had such a $hitty service at any game store. :end rant:

him not telling you the price for metal slug is fd up, but psx and n64 games are live on the floor now, if you ask someone if they have it in stock and expect them to find it for you, its going to take longer than if you did it yourself

Perhaps he told you about saving 10% with the card because they didn't have any sales, but he still wanted to help you save money.

OMG logic and rationality!

Seriously, of all your complaints the only legitimate one would be Metal Slug thing.

apparently jet force gemni is 3 dollars at GS whereas its 5 at gamecrazy and i believe 10 at eb.

I guess it's just me bitchin and moanin, but I'd never treat a "new" customer like that... I never did when I worked for GC.

Bowie rocks.

Dude, just go look in the fucking basket. Do they need to hold your hand and walk you over? Do you expect them to shine your shoes as well? Damn 15 year olds.

Or they can just look it up in there computer system which will tell them if they at least have a copy of it so he dosnt look in a entire bin when they dont even have one

They don't keep them in the computer, I believe.

I might be a little off on this, but I think JFG is $3.99 PO @ EB. If that's right then it would cost $3(+tax) when it comes in stock online(after 25%+free shipping).

Yeah, it's $3.99 on EB's site, but $4.99 in stores which is confusing. Their prices for N64 don't match something, I've seen Turok for $2.99 & Turok 2 for $1.99, while the site has them for $4.99 a piece(WTF?).

As for your experience, I've gotten worse experiences at Gamestop(especially the stores that run by total a-hole managers that hate their job). I've been questioned as to why I didn't want a discount card when it saves me money multiple times during one transaction, which made me very uncomfortable especially when I had one right in my wallet.

Do I seriously come off as a 15 year old!!?

Yes. Next time bring your mom so she can yell at the 'mean man'.

Basically there was a right way and a wrong way for the employee to handle the situation. If he had an attitude when he told the OP to go look on the rack then that's just uncalled for. Also, it would have only taken the worker a minute or so to type it into their computer to see if the game was in stock and then if they had it in stock they could have directed him to look on the rack for it. I don't think that helping out the customer a little is really that much out of the question considering that's what your job expectations are when you work in retail. In addition to that it wouldn't have been that difficult for the employee to at least tell the OP what the price of Metal Slug 4 was even if they didn't have any in stock.

And no, you do not come off as a 15 year old.

Problem though, Gamestop computers are old, we still use DOS. Our program does not have the ability to see what is in stock by looking at our computers. We have to physically check.

Man, if the OP gets that worked up over nothing (and what he's griping about is seriously nothing), I'd hate to see what he'd do if he actually had bad customer service somewhere.

Hasn't this been mentioned like 10 other times that GameStop no longer has a PSX games in their inventory system (AKA Computers). Yawn, whatever. You clearly expect them to kiss your ass for a $5 sale.
