Why no Wii Player's Choice?

Well, out of boredom, I've been reading some of the Gamecube forum and some of the posts there. Last generation I didn't follow gaming at all, so this all was rather new to me.

My question is, any ideas why Nintendo doesn't do Player's Choice anymore for Wii/DS games? It sure sucks to see games like Zelda (which I'm sure has sold 1 million+ copies) for $50, after almost 3 years.

You just answered your own question.

Why make another print run on a game that is selling fine/great? And then charge less for it?!

Just like there isn't a drop for the Wii yet either. And why the DS is still selling as strong and costs that much.

Yep. We won't see a Player's Choice line until people stop buying Wiis. Once their sales start to slow then we might see something to rejuvenate sales. Other than that the only thing that might bring about a price drop on a game is if a sequel is around the corner.

I would really like to have at least a price drop on the first wave titles. I traded in my copy of Zelda after finishing it figuring that there would be a price drop in a year or so. Ive been wanting to play Zelda again but it still costs the same as I bought it when it first came out. At this point I'm pretty much hoping that there will at least be a drop when the new game comes out.

I can't imagine that first wave games are still selling well.

It still is odd there is no player's choice line. You'd think 3rd party publishers would love to resell games that came out in year 1 or 2 at $19.99 to the millions of new wii owners.
Ubi repackaged red steel/no more heroes, but otherwise not much interest
Okami

de Blob
among others are strong titles that could benefit

Okami, RE4, and de Blob are already $20, thanks to price drops. (well, Okami was $20 when I bought it a few weeks ago at least)

The price point is proof they are. If they weren't selling well, the price would have dropped by now.

I just wish they'd re-release some of the older titles for the Wii & DS.

I'd love to get a new copy of Wario Ware Smooth Moves, for example.

The very fact that Mario Kart DS is still $35 should tell you Nintendo has no plans on doing Player's Choice for the DS, either.
