Wii In Next Week Wal-Mart Ad

Zerms4

CAGiversary!
Its on Page 7 on Wal-Mart's Mother's Day Ad

It looks like they are going to have them next sunday on may 6th

So, still needs one? :applause:

EDIT: Also, The Ad saids there WILL BE A MIMINUM of 7 Per store, just to let you know...

It seems like there's a far more steady supply coming out as of late. I know they're still not easy to find, but at least we are hearing about them about once a week getting in somewhere.

Just out of morbid curiosity, what's the average linesitting length required to get one at these days? And what percentage of the people that show up before the store opens go home empty-handed?

I really would not be surprised if a bunch of kids are planning to get a Wii 'for their mom'. Kind of like Homer getting Marge the bowling ball.

A lot of moms would enjoy playing the Wii...mine does...and so does my mother-in-law. She kicked everyone's ass at bowling in Wii Sports. It's more of a family entertainment console than something that's just for kids or just for gamers.

This week I went to Target an hour early to get one, I was #10 in line and they had 32 Wiis.

However, I went to Gamestop to get some games around 11am when they opened, and both Gamestops had 4+ Wiis on the shelves. Take from that what you will. I'm sure they were gone within the hour, but the extremes might not be necessary anymore.

Considering there was a slight line for a free Hilary Duff poster at my Circuit City, I'd say you're insane if you don't expect at least a three hour line for a Wii.

Wii's are still going for over retail on ebay. I say its going to be a line everywhere.

Most stores don't get more then 6-10 in at a time.

I think supply is becoming less of a factor. But with stores continuing to hold back supply, it increases demand even more.

You never know on lines, I stopped in at my local Walmart last Friday night, decided to take a look see.. and what do'ya know, 4 Wii's in the case. Now I just gotta catch up on the games.

A month ago I showed up 1 1/2 hours before TRU opened in Cattonsville MD and I was like the 5th or 6th to last one to get one of the 24 they got.

I'm suprised that these are still selling over retail (new anyways) on eBay. It's alot easier to get them now. I work in retail and we are getting about 45+ a week, and they have been on shelves constantly for 2+ days (granted someone had to go in the back and stock the case again). From what I heard the units have already been "pumped up" and I think by the end of this summer they should be 100 times easier to find. November - Christmas will change things again though.

If your assessment is accurate and indicative of the majority of the U.S., then much of the profiteering on eBay is due to the perceived impossibility of getting one, i.e., many people just concede defeat at retail and aren't even trying anymore. I know that's how I'd be thinking about it if I were a parent or 'casual' type who didn't already have one.

...

Okay, okay, for those that want my 'Greatest Hits'...

"Who's laughing at my waiting three hours for a preorder now??"

"This is the very definition of a manufactured shortage, you can't tell me otherwise!"

and

"Slim pickins!"

I'd still hesitate to say that it's easy to get one or that you won't have to get to a store early to get one, either, but I think the days of camping out and waking up at insane hours of the day to get one are over.

I recently got one two Sundays ago when TRU got their huge shipment in. I got there one hour before official store opening (which is at 10 AM) and was #68 out of 80 consoles. They were letting people in way early (I would imagine around 8 AM based on the fact that there weren't 67 people in front of me and people were already walking out with Wiis) so at least if you decide to get to a store very early, you will be assured one and you could presumably get back home earlier. But anyway, that's besides the point. There was also a BB right next to the TRU I went to that opened at 11 AM and there were only about 6 people in line and they were only guaranteed 12 units, if I remember correctly. Of course, by the time I got back in my car with my Wii from TRU at around 10:40 AM, the BB line had at least 12 people, which doesn't take into account people who might've stopped by just to find out there weren't any left.

SO, to make a long story short, I think if you really want to guarantee one for yourself, you shouldn't take the attitude that you don't have to at least get to a store a little bit early. I've been to many stores on many different days since I got mine and I haven't been lucky enough to see any sitting on shelves.
Man its so easy to get a Wii here. I can get it for $220 here.
When you have people like this guy in the US, it really is slim pickings

He only got $280, thats a loss of $9 bucks with fees and tax. Way to go:applause:

I don't get it. The Wii sucks! It is boring! zz.... No games and wii sports gets mundane fast. Who the heck wants to play your wii controller like a drum just to do anything. So far everyone I know with one is not using it anymore after a month of owning it. 2 thumbs down.

I assume he still made a profit since alot of eBayers charge shipping from $25-40, even though it probably costs only $15 to ship.
