Just some perspective- Sony's been posting bigger losses than Nintendo, and for the better part of the last decade too. Not to mention Nintendo's 3DS is outselling PS4, and the Wii U has almost surpassed Vita in half the time (THAT'S perspective for you). Nintendo has 12 BILLION cash in the bank, not counting assets. They could have another 50 consecutive sales years like 2013 was for Wii U, and STILL be in the black. That was just one fiscal year operating budget loss, that we all knew was coming. I mean, it's not like we didn't already know Wii U wasn't selling too hot. It's like a millionaire losing a $5 bill, and you're waiting to see if he can still pay his rent...?
The quality of the console and library has nothing to do with its' popularity. If you just buy consoles that are popular and hot selling items, you're gonna miss the best part of gaming. The Wii U's worst days are behind it. It was that huge drought in 2013 that hit it hard, but now that the library's filling out, it's only going up from here. But even if it doesn't, which is highly unlikely, but let's just pretend Wii U never sells better, even with the hordes of critically acclaimed games it blanket bombs the system with over the next 5 years, the Wii U still isn't going anywhere, and Nintendo will still support the console regardless. If you don't want to buy a Wii U, that's fine, but don't use a ridiculous excuse for it. Nintendo is a multibillion dollar corporation. That loss was pocket change.
