Wii update question with gecko

I want to reedeem some wii point cards, but I have gecko os to play Tatsuko Vs. Capcom import. I'm afraid if i update I wont be able to play import games anymore. Any help is appreciated.

If you are running it through the Homebrew channel as far as I know the update does not remove the HBC or any of its features.

If you don't want to officially update your firmware version, you can stay on your old firmware and simply update the WiiShop and IOS51.
