You search and they give you points randomly when you do. You'll need to install their toolbar (recommend to install on least-used browser since it's ugly).

F.y.i. it'll take 3 weeks of searching with a max commitment of 10 minutes per day typing in random phrases (to get on average 20 points/day) for a $5 Amazon gift card online (costs 450 points).
* Pro tip: Split search in morning and at night and DON'T SPAM THE SEARCH (like "1" "2" "5"), THEY WILL CATCH YOU.
* Pro tip #2: Watch a YouTube video when searching to pass time and to get ideas for random words to type in.

Watch the swagbucks tv thing too, you can get bucks while you're searching. And some of the videos are interesting. (like 1 in 20)

And honestly, as a man's word, this is the easiest reward program I've ever used (I never ever use ones that require credit card info.) - next to Microsoft's Bing Rewards program on ease of use (time commitment) and pay out ratio.
