Will prices of the current 3DS XL LE systems fall with the new XL's release?

I just found a new Yoshi 3DS XL for less than MSRP.  I've already played most of what interests me on the 3DS when I had one earlier this year.  Any guesses on whether or not these will go down in price or will the character like this one hold their value?

Almost certainly they will drop. The current 3DS/2DS/XL's will not be able to play games that are only compatible with the New 3DS and XL handhelds.

This means:

A) Informed customers won't want the older consoles, unless they are cheaper in price, lowering the price.

B) Nintendo will want to get rid of backstock of existing models, and will lower the price and have retailers unload them with cheaper deals.

C) Existing customers who are upgrading, will sell their older 3DSs, lowering the price.

D) The only people interested in the older models at their current price will be collectors. They'll want them new and unopened, and likely already have the more common models.

I seriously doubt they'll hold their value.

I agree with the CAG above. As far as value over time, the only way I see them holding their worth or going up is an unopened LE.

I know the black Zelda 3DS, even opened, has held its value and then some.

Other then that there's not much to add that's not been said already.

Eh. I wouldn't worry about the New 3DS software just yet. It might be the games that the more "hardcore" want, like RPGs, Zelda, or even shooters, would utilize the hardware. But I suspect that developers would still be encouraged to use the old hardware for a few more years, considering 3DS games aren't that complex.

I imagine we will still see 3DS games made for the current hardware at least up to 8 months, possibly a year after the new 3DS hardware hits.
