Will the Gamestop buy 2 get 1 free used sale return?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this and am not sure how everything works. I was hoping to take advantage of the buy 2 get 1 free deal at game stop to get call of duty 5, gears 2, and fable 2 (or fallout 3) used. Unfortunately, I went a bit too late and it was out.

I'm a bit confused, I searched for this deal online and most of the posts claim it was only available for 3 days recently, and during the summer. But, I saw the deal available right before thanksgiving in November until recently.

Well, I guess my questions are, does anyone know when this deal will be back? What is the likelihood of it returning? Do some gamestops hold this deal longer or on more dates indepeendintly on what gamestop is doing at the national level?

Thanks for your time!

their going to keep doing it until the 10,000 copies of halo 3 per store becomes 9,000 copies of halo 3 per store. so they will keep running it every couple months or so until about 2020. but in all seriousness it will come back around soon because they've been doing it every month for at least the past 4 months it seems like.

Just a question...but when the sale was online, did orders arrive with case & manual? Or was it just the CD that you got?

Ok, first off, games haven't been on CD since the PS2. Secondly, you are guaranteed exactly jack and shit when ordering from gamestop. You will, probably, get the correct disc, but they make no guarantee of case or manual. There is also no quality control. SEVERELY scratched discs are not uncommon. And lastly, to the OP: No, gamestops NEVER do ANYTHING independantly. Does not happen.

Thanks everyone. And regarding manuals and cases, if you go to the actual store you can ask if they come with that. Sounds like ordering this deal online is not a good idea.

If you order online and the game doesn't come with a manual or case, you can exchange it in-store for a complete copy at any Gamestop.

Keep watching the website, they announce it there either on the home page or in the weekly ad. They will probably be doing a lot of them in 2009 because all the stores I have been in recently are crammed to the rafters with used games. It is even conceivable they may do an even better sale than B2G1. Hopefully, your location is near enough that you can check in frequently so you don't miss any special deals. Getting an Edge card is also a must because you get an extra discount/trade in bonus on used games and accessories and get Game Informer for a year which justifies the price of the card by itself.
