Will this get me online with the wii?

Most likely it won't work. It's better to go ahead and get something specifically designed for the Wii. The official adapter is available at Nintendo's online store, and should also be available at retailers.
Nyko is also making a LAN adapter that should work just as well as Nintendo's.
I still prefer first party stuff though.

I don't actually know if they sell it at retailers.
There are a few third party alternatives. Nyko just released one, for example. But the problem is that there is always the potential for a system update to lock out third party LAN adapters.
I don't think that will happen with Nyko's, but it is something worth noting.
