???> Windows Movie Maker

False Hope

CAGiversary!
I've got an acquaintance who is trying to break into the music industry. He's working on a basic level, and he's running a one-man show at the moment, so he has to record different parts of his song one piece at a time (vocals, guitar, secondary guitar, drums). At the moment, he's using Windows Movie Maker to mix his stuff, but, from what he tells me, it's got some drawbacks that are preventing it from sounding the best it can (as I've heard). Anyone here have any suggestions of any programs which he could use that would be better than Movie Maker?

Note, this guy is a college student, so no completely off-the-wall $500 programs, please.

if he is a college student, then he is elegible for student pricing :)
go to this site http://www.academicsuperstore.com/

i got the adobe video collection 2.5 that normally runs 3000 bucks for 750 with 50 MIR :) some of the splash screens say educational version, but still functions normally. Funny After Effects which is like a thosand dollar program has no educational splash screen yet the photshop version in the collection does..hehe..

Im not a student, but I work in the educational system so I do get that discount as a teacher :)

btw-Audition is a bitch to figure out even with a book.. it was part of the collection but I had no use for it :|

Yeah, look for ultradiscounted educational versions of whatever software you might need. If you're a student, chances are highly likely you can get it for pennies on the dollar.
