I really enjoy this game and all of its features. Unfortunately, the control scheme is killing me. I oriiginally began by using the default controls but I realized that I hated us L1 to switch my player (I like using X). After I changed it, the game forced my offensive controls to change as well. Can I fix this? Also, having a hell of a time trying to keep the sticks calibrated. Do you think it could be that the controllers are messed up? Or perhaps, are their installable drivers or is your only option to use controller wizard in the control panel? I am seriously thinking about dropping this game if I can't get these issues fixed. Any control suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think he is playing the PC version with an adapter for his PS2 controller. I had some initial problems with my USB-PS2 adapter when I tried MGS2 on the PC. I forget what the issue was exactly, I think the analogues wouldn't work, but I found some different drivers than the ones included on the CD on the company's website (was a bit of a hassle finding them tucked away). And that fixed the problem (I spent a good hour scouring the Konami boards for anyone with similar issues, and that didn't really help).

If you know the manufacturer of the adapter and haven't already tried, I'd look on their site for any other versions of the drivers. I got my adapter from Fry's ($9.99 one, I think it was the cheaper of the 2 they had), I can dig it out if you want.

I don't know about the control changing stuff though, sorry. I remember also having trouble adjusting to the "out of the way"ness of player changing (compared to FIFA), but yeah...3 years and I'm used to it now ;). I don't like how the game still changes your player for you sometimes, even on Manual.

thanks, mine came from ebay for 8 bucks. it was probably from Hong Kong. It came oem with no goodies. Maybe I will look on the surface for a website. Also, I have trouble with the right analogue. Did you have that trouble?
