Wireless Controller vs. Wired?

CAGiversary!
What do you guys prefer? I'm looking at picking up a 360 soon and am looking to shave off any more $$$ that I may incur. I've dealt with wired controllers all my life and have had no complaints with them so far.

With the Wireless controllers I'd have to drop $42 bucks a pop plus the wireless charger that I've seen for about another $18.

What do you guys think?

After using the 360 wireless controller for about a year now, I can safely say that I will never go back to wires. :)

just so you know, you really don't need the charger. I have had my 360 since late august, and play quite a bit and have only changed batteries like 4 times.

Agreed, batteries last awhile (not as long as the wavebird did though) and you can buy regular rechargable AAs for cheaper than the XBox charger.

I guess I just had crappy batteries, my controllers charge lasted for 4 days so I bought a Play & Charge Kit. My Wavebird, Logitech Cordless Action, & Logitech Cordless Precision all lasted around a month.

I'd say to get a wireless regardless, but I wouldn't spend the money to buy a bunch of wireless controllers for multiplayer (your friends can use 3rd party wired controllers).

Wireless controllers can get lost.
They can also have dead batteries which means you cant play at the time

Wired controllers can make way for big accidents if someone(or a pet) trips over the wire, if an excited players pulls back after losing, etc etc

Wired controllers are limiting in terms of where you play. I was halfway across my house with my controller in hand chatting on xbox live, so anywhere that you can see the TV from you can play from.

Wired = more clutter. Clutter sucks, get wireless please.

Before I got the 360 I didn't really care about wireless but now I can't go back.

It especially good for Live so that you can go get a drink or something and still be able to talk to people by bringing the controller with you. I guess the wireless headset can do the same thing but it's kind of expensive and has questionable audio quality.

I think I've only changed my batteries 5-6 times total (I have two controllers) and I've had my 360 since March. Even though its $10 more expensive, totally worth it. I also bought a pretty AA battery + recharger combo for like $15 from Wal-Mart, I keep one set charged and one set in my controllers. Works great.

Also, can anyone tell me what QFT stands for?

QFT=Quoted For Truth. I didn't know what it meant at first either. It seemed like QFT and FTW came out of nowhere and now people say both constantly.

For all those who can't go back to wired I have a question for you. Does this mean you'll never play any of your classic consoles; that is if you're a collector and have any? I know that companies are designing retro wireless controllers for NES/SNES, but they aren't doing it for all consoles. Though I enjoy the freedom wireless gives me in next-gen gaming I have to stick with the tried and true wired controller. Also as stated earlier, regardless of how many times you've used the play&charge kit, your wireless is not truly wireless unless you're only using batteries.

I know that premium box comes with a wireless controller. How do the batteries recharge? Or does the box not come with rechargeable batteries?

fixed.

If it weren't for the Wavebird we wouldn't have a wireless standard this gen. Gotta show respect for Nintendo paving the way. ;)
