My wife and I witnessed a possible theft at Circuit City today in Sunnyvale. Two guys were leaving the store, each holding a basket full of merchandise in each hand (4 baskets total), started to walk faster when the alarm tripped. We were not far behind them leaving the store. They wore red hooded jacket which at first sight looked like an employee. They left in a quick hurry to the back parking lot.

It was not easy to hear the alarm with the TVs and stereos and the nearest employee was located near the wireless counter. We reported the incident to the employee who just smiled and indicated he will let his manager know. He was not surprised at all, leaving me to think if this type of activity happens all the time.

Yeah well...I saw a car accident today.

Actually I turned away at the exact second it happened and missed it :bomb:

Well personally nobody cares seeing how I would try and and steal from these big wig stores myself.

They got tons of crap just lying around all over the place. All you need to do is rip the merchandise from ther cases and watch the camera.

It is really stupid when you think about it. Personally stealing a couple of items even a dozen from one of these stores is not a big deal.

If it was a small store from around the corner then I would consider it a big deal but it is the dirty minimum wage circuit city. Also the people working there stink like ugly deorderant or Kalone.

Also Fight the power.

Yay ignorance. Please find a hole and die. Thanks.

You have people who is 23 working in these stores. They steal from the stores along with the power abusive managers.

So you are saying that because they are a chain, it's ok to steal from them? That's honestly the dumbest thing i've heard in a long time. Do the world a favor and get a job. There's nothing like feeling the sweet sting of sweat in your eyes from a hard days work. (Yay Arrested Development)

Do not blaspheme RegalSin2020 again. You have been warned...

* This was posted by a person with a rare and severe mental disorder. He was constantly seeing his own fantasies all around him. He also had a certain phobia (undisclosed).

* His (the poster’s) psychiatry professor showed this post in a lecture, and said there was one tell-tale sign in it that showed the poster’s insanity.

* The professor didn’t say what that sign was, leaving the students to do the guesswork. The only clues he gave was, “don’t look for small details, look at the whole; if you figure out what the phobia was, you’ve got the answer; ask yourself what could have preceded this scene; think of what the place would look like with all the objects removed“.

* The professor said that during the 15 years of his posting, only one student had figured it out.
Me thinks the employee was in on it.
Maybe, but even if he wasn't, they usually won't even touch people stealing stuff since they could get sued by the thieves if they fall down or something and blame it on the store.

LOL :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: Well done. Maybe something good came out of that damn thread after all.

From working in department stores and having friends who have worked as loss prevention officers, the typical party line for most stores is that after the shoplifter is out of the store to let them go due to the added potential for lawsuits and other potentially hazardous repurcussions.

i hated shoplifting, i used to work at an american eagle, and every so often (no i am not stereotyping, but it was a HUGE majority) of jamiacan women would come in, and seriously take a whole load of t shirts (im talking the whole pile of at least 14) and just cram them into their giant purses, ive personally caught 2, anyway, usually the people who stole got away and the store would cut the loses by cutting back on hours..so..to the people who thinking shop lifting does nothing because "oh, it's a huge store, they wont miss it" shut the hell up, because the workers, who actually need the money, are the ones who suffer.

^edit, yea strafoxx is right, we werent allowed to do anything, the most we could do was "can i help you" and they could continue to cram all the stuff they wanted into their bags and pockets and we couldnt do a damn thing, if it was up to me..id get out the tazer and zap em til the police arrived :)!...we could call cops which took like an hour usually, and they fed us this crap (managers) that "we cant stop it, but we have to prevent!"

be careful because id wonder fi they guy who you told about what you saw could have possibly been in on it. i dont care what the store is if you see people heading towards the door with a bunch of merchandise unpaid for especially in huge amounts of course youd stop them and say soemthing. hell you noticed it so how could they not have? chances are they knew and knew who ti was probably.

employees become desensitized to the alarm. i walked out of a circuit city and the alarm sounded. they just waived me on when i stopped.
