Woo! Finally got a BK Mini Darth Vader.

After going a few times to BK, I finally found one of these buggers. I must say that they're freakin awesome. It's like a chibi version of Darth Vader. It was really tough finding one, but I was lucky and managed to get two at the same BK at the same time since the guy at the cash register was just opening a box and saw that the Darths were at the top and offered them to me.

So far I have:

2 X Darth Vader
1 X Obi-Wan Kenobi*
1 X Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidius*
1 X Darth Maul
1 X R2D2
1 X X-Wing
1 X Chewbacca
1 X Yoda
1 X Mace Windu
1 X Jabba the Hutt
1 X Wicket the Ewok
 
Can't you just request one at the counter and they'll give you whatever? That's what I always do whenever i'm searching for something at a restaurant..
 
Usually, but supposedly the Darth Vader toys are 'rare' although I don't see how that can really apply to a $.20 toy that comes with a kid's meal.

I tried doing that at a couple BKs, but the people working there wouldn't allow it saying it's just whatever they pull out of the box is what you get. They wouldn't even let me trade in one since I had a double of it. There was a sign at one BK on the door requesting for Star Wars fans to come in on Tuesday from 3-7 P.M. if they wanted to trade or exchange with each other. So stupid IMO, like if I get a mini Darth as if I'm actually going (or anyone for that matter) to give it up. yaeh right, I think not.
 
We should start an official trading thread....seriously...My cubicle at work is flooded with these (Luckily I work for a toy company though)

I like that one a lot also. So far I have 1 X-Wing, 1 Chewbacca, 2 Darth Vaders, 1 Yoda, 1 Darth Maul, and 1 R2D2. I can't seem to find anywhere in my area that has other Star Wars minis though. Anyone know how long these mini toys are supposed to last at BK?

I have everything from weeks 1-3, and a Vader-- Vader was a pain because the BKs near me were actually sorting through cases, pulling out the few (I think 5 or 6/case) Vaders, and taking "reserves" on them for collectors. Sucks. Managed to be there right when someone called to say they wouldn't be picking up the toy.

I've been collecting a bunch of the Jawa toys for this week, so if anyone really wants that one specifically, let me know.

I love the Jawa ones. I have a small army ofg them amassed on my desk. :D

Look closer. He doesn't actually have them yet. He won't even be shipping them out until the end of June.
 
also for those that don't know
there are 31 different toys in all including Vader.

I have 21 different ones so far so there are at least those out there to this point.

I am very lucky beacuse my BK lets me pick whichever ones I want when I order 2 with a value meal. I got the Vader the first day of the promotion.

I go once a week for breakfeast and once for lunch or dinner. Plus my co-workers pick them up for me if they go to BK for lunch. That is why I have some doubles.
 
Wow, everyone has a lot more than me. How long has this been going on at BK? Some guy posted that it was going on for 3 weeks now? I thought it had only been two. Anybody know how long it'll last?

There's 5 waves, and it's one wave a week...

i doubt i would start now...im not much of a Burger King fan, but if i were to start this late into it, are some toys done being released and therefore i would not be able to get anymore at BK?

Either a Kids' Meal or a "Jedi Meal", which is their name currently for a value meal with two toys, which I think costs a few dollars extra. I got no reply when i asked for a Sith meal. ;P

Some BKs will allow you to purchase the toys on their own, some won't.

I can't wait for next week's Grievous toy. And oh man, I need that Boba Fett.
 
one BK by me(i have 7 in my area)is only giving the toys if you buy a value meal(not happy meal)I almost shit on their counter and walked out. All other BKs are selling them to me single for $1.05 w/tax

I'm sure, due to all the talk he has generated a toy of him will eventually come out in some form.

The BK king rocks!...All hail the great one w/ the porcelain head, but still the hairy hands of an old man.
 
That King is one of the creepiest fuckin things I've seen on TV in awhile.

PS: I went to BK today to pick up some of those figures, and I got 4:
1) Darth Maul
2) Padme Amidala
3) Obi-Wan Kenobi
4) Pod Racer-lame

They had the Emperor but he didn't look too cool, and they brought him up after I had paid. I should have exchanged it with the stupid podracer but I was on my way out.

I read that they were starting it earlier than previously announced. I think it began around May 10th or 11th and I read it on a Star Wars collector's site.

EDIT: Am I the only one who remembers the BK King guy when he was a real mascot? This was around the early '80s and he was a magician as well. He had the orange-ish hair and long moustache and danced around in their commercials. That big head mask is an accurate likeness.

Man, I wish there was a BK near me. Closest one is about a 20 minute drive away.

Only places around here are MCDs, Taco Bells, and KFCs.

ok, are these vaders really rare? i got 2 today...and the gf picked up another....

the bk i went to was really nice....they sold them to me w/o buying a meal...67 cents a piece after tax.
 
My daughter got the Vader yesterday, we went for lunch and it was empty inside. So the cashier brings out 2 cases and lets my daughter choose what she wanted. I had no idea the vader was special. My daughter thought it was cool since it was 2 toys in one. On another note I got he Jawa and Chewie. Now those were cool!! Now i need to get the wampa and I am set. ^^

So that's why I got late in the game for finding these toys. I wish I had known that they had started earlier as then I would have every single wave by now. Now I'm missing one wave just about. Damn, gotta eat more :lol: I thought they were going to start the toys the same week as Episode III, but I guess they decieved me. Anyhow, no, I don't remember the early 80's BK King guy. Anyone have a pic of how he looks?
