Today's special on woot.com is a 60GB Starter Kit for the XBox 360 for $39.99. Described as new, and includes the HD, standard headphone/microphone and 3 months of XBox Live. Not sure if this is a European version like the 250 GB drive the had on sale a couple months ago. Even if it is, those worked fine. This is for the non-slim version of course.

Standard Woot $5 shipping applies.

EDIT: Doesn't look like it includes a data transfer cable. IIRC this is standard for this kit.

Might want to put price in the title. This is actually a really good deal though all things considered. It IS possible to use these harddrives in an Xbox 360 S if you're willing to crack it out of its case and slide it into the enclosure on the new 360. Otherwise you get a headset and 3 months of Gold with it, so it's a nice bundle if you need any of that anyway and as well as a harddrive on a 360. You almost definitely won't get anywhere near filling up the space on this unless you have a lot of games installed to it at once, but can of course take advantage of all the things that you'd normally need a harddrive for like online coop in the Halo games and backwards compatibility with original Xbox games.

I guess it's too late too mention a long time Ebayer was selling the 120GB drive Brand New with free shipping for $38.95

At the time of listing he had more than 10 available.

I can't really speak to this particular example without a link, but the general consensus is that the vast majority of xbox hard drives on ebay are not genuine Microsoft drives.

I can attest to this through personal experience. Even though my seller had specifically described the HDD as "genuine" and "official", it turned out to NOT have the Xbox 1 partition making backwards compatibility with selected games impossible = non-official, knock-off.
