I don't want to assume that I can post such a deal but it is from obsidian so it's a reputable company and for early adoption it's $5 off so it would be a deal

Even if there's a $5 incentive for the kickstarter? I've seen stuff like "Donate $10 bucks and get a crappy paper slip case to hold your games" posted in the deals forum.
What part of "No" from a moderator wasn't clear?
Oh, I'm sorry, what part of the rules say I can't ask a mod a question for clarification?

I haven't posted any kickstarters since Shrike stated it wouldn't be allowed, so I'm pretty sure I understood his "No" pretty clearly.

There's been plenty of kickstarters and other similar "deals" posted in the Deals forum so I'm just asking for clarity as to why other deals (like MSRP, Kickstarters, donations) have been allowed and this isn't.

So why don't you mind your business or at the very least contribute something productive next time you post...

I've got no opinion on Kickstarter, but I do wish the MSRP/preorder/announcement threads would get moved out of the Deals forum. Seems like it defeats the purpose of having the General Gaming & Industry News and console-specific forums when everyone just posts everything in the Deals forum anyway.

If they're not supposed to be in the Deals forum, report them so a mod sees it and can move it to a more appropriate forum. That's way more useful than complaining about it here after the fact.

People post a lot of things that shouldn't be in the Deals forum, but if you guys don't report it, then it'll only get worse. Free soundtracks, betas, news/announcements, giveaways, and such don't belong in that forum, so take a few seconds and report them to help the mods clean the Deals forum up.

Thanks for the explanation. It just seems a ton of stuff gets posted there and any given day one look at the first two pages you will find stuff that technically doesn't belong. You'd think the mods would be able to at least review the front page every now and then instead of having to wait for people to report something.

Are you sure about that? From the report a post page:

"This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and EXTREME problematic posts (threats, fighting, explicit pornography)."

I'd love to hear straight from a mod that it's cool to report a post just because I don't agree that it's in the correct forum. I don't want to get dinged for misusing the report function. :)

Yeah, mods like Shrike and others have been saying that in this forum occasionally for years now. As long as you don't abuse it and report threads because you don't like the OP or whatever, you'll be fine.
