Its funny, they first CE they released was crazy rare, but they made the Burning Crusade so un "Limited" that it actually ended up on Target Clearance. I'm curious to see how hard this edition is to get.

I want to get the CE, but for almost 2x the price I just don't know. I was able to pick up TBC CE for cheap, so unless they make an annoucement of this being very rare and a GS exclusive I think I'll just wait til' it's on clearance.
eh, if the only in-game item you get is a pet, then there's not much here that seems worthwhile IMO.
The Art book is great...well at least it was for the other two CE's. And if you like the music, then the sound track is pretty cool too. Is that enough to make you want to purchase? Maybe...I'm sure we've spent the same for 360 or PS3 Collector Ed''s, and they have just as much...

Yeah, unless you got in on the first day or two, you really lost money on that one. ;) But hey, I bought the Warcraft III CE, and I still see them on occasion (but not recently). :wall:

More fucking shit for me to buy:

LBP
Fallout 3 CE
Resistance 2 CE
Gears 2 CE
WotLK CE
Mirror's Edge
Prince of Persia
Persona 4

SO BROKE :(
but, then... GAMES! :)

Wow, what in the world is the "handling fee"? It's not even that big from the look of it. After tax that's over $90 for the thing from Gamestop...

The book is 208 pages and seems to be a hard cover... maybe weighs a few pounds.

Gamestop does overcharge.... maybe pickup?

Yeah, the extra 15 bucks is a pain. To there credit though, the past two WoW CEs I ordered from them I had at noon on release day.

This time though I'm planning on trying through Amazon. Hopefully they'll do that special they're doing on Fable II and GoW2 with first day shipping for five bucks. Anyone have any experience with the previous collector's editions with Amazon?

I'm one of those thrifty shoppers, so I don't usually buy CE's, so if collecting them is your thing, take my opinion with a grain of salt. I'm getting the WAR CE because they have all of the in-game bonuses. I also bought the CoH CE on discount. But other than those two, I've never bought more than the standard.
Holy gouging, Batman!
They're big and heavy. The box is thick cardboard, art book is hardcover, you've got the game in CD in a four-disc jewel case and in DVD, the making of DVD, etc etc. And it is relatively big. About 30% bigger than PC game boxes used to be. An extra $15 to get it there on the release date is probably a little expensive -- considering they'll probably have the game in stock at least 2 weeks ahead of the release date -- but at least you'll get it on day one if you're unable to hit up a local store.

Damn. With shipping like that, I'll either just wait for Amazon to offer it or take my chances on release day. If it's anything like the BC CE, it won't be all that hard to find (hell, my Wal-Mart still regularly has them in stock).
I still have a sealed copy of the Burning Crusade CE in my closet lol
Same here.
After the non-limited BC:CE I won't be pre-ordering this one this time around. I have to still sell off my BC:CE lol.
just got one on amazon
Did the same. I'm in no rush to get it day one as I had to start over w/ my girlfriend who just started playing WoW. Gotta get to 60 anyway for that damned zebra mount.

Anyway, thanks OP.

I preordered this off of amazon earlyer today after seeing that GS wanted 14 bucks to ship it. I still see CE sets of the last set of WOW at CC and Walmart every now and then. I thought it would be limited also but it looks like only the first one was. I saw someone was selling the CE set for WOW for around 1300 bucks. If I knew I would have got into this game I would have got the CE back on day one however I didn't get into it for about 6 months or more after it first came out. With this set I will get back into it but chances are not for long. Most my friends quit or went to PVE servers and I want to stay on a PVP server. I think I will play for about a month before the set comes out so I will start back up next month and get a card to pay for it this time then play for about 2 months or so after this set comes out. Then I'm done. Hell I might not even play it that much. I just really want to try out the new class and the updates. I have not played this in over a year.

I got the BC CE with my ex gf long ago and she gave me that look like ugh, why are you buying that? And I enjoyed buying it. Now, I think I will buy WotLK CE to feel that same spite. :)

I wish I knew someone nerdy enough to play the card game with me... back in the day I loved Pokemon & Magic, I miss card games.

When I ordered the BC CE from Gamestop it took almost a week after the game came out to get here. I expect this to be the same because I picked the 4 shipping that said I think 4-5 days. Could have paid the 5 extra bucks to get it in about 3 days but dont see the point of it.
Looks like there's some interest...It's no longer available for pre-order at Amazon and Gamestop.
Ditto, i got one yesterday, but only because i have until november to cancel if it becomes un-rare like BC LE did, which i still have sealed since i stopped playing WoW right before it came out and was hoping to sell it. Seeing it sold-out is refreshing but i doubt it will last.

Gamestop just got an email last night, and are no longer taking pre orders for the CE as of closing last night. Interesting since it was announced just a few days back.

I tried to find it online on gamestops site and could not find it. Also last I looked you have to look for just the CE version on amazon. Just looking for WOW: Wrath of the Lich King will not find the CE now.

EDIT: Also just got a 60 day card to get back into the game. I plan on jumping to a new server that a friend of mine is on hower I really dont want to pay the 25 bucks for that.

Still I would rather pay nothing then the 4.99. I wonder howmany people saw that when it was 14.99. I didn't till I started ordering it. When I saw the total that it was so much more of the price I went to Amazon.

Fry's has it: $69+shipping by location, $4.98 to ship here to Seattle

I was wondering, this is the second expansion, right? Do you need the first one to install this one? I was considering getting this for my friend and keeping the artbook and cards... since I want the artbook and cards but don't play the game. Also, is it likely that it's gonna keep selling out (even 2months before release) or is it going to be easier to find later?

I'm not sure if you would technically need Burning Crusade to install Wrath of the Lich King, but ALL of the in game content from levels 60-70 takes place in the Burning Crusade content. So if you want to spend 10 levels grinding the same stuff in Azeroth to get to 70 to be able to play in the Lich King content, it would be advisable to get Burning Crusade. Even moreso because you need a level 70 character on your account to even create a death knight character at all.

I brought this same exact question up to a friend last night while putting together my new gaming PC. Looked on the WoW site and it doesn't specifically say you need BC in the FAQ or anything. I'm guessing you can upgrade to Lich King w/o BC, but then would you have to level up from 60 - 70 through instances only?

Pretty much, which would take forever. Or, since you travel to Northrend by boat, and not a portal (like in BC, where you had to be level 58 to enter the portal), if there is no level requirement, you could get a high level friend to group with you and just kill a bunch of enemies and level that way.

Looks like all the links have either been pulled from the various sites or redirected to the regular editions. Interesting...

wtf amazon just sent me an email saying they can now have it arrive on release day for $5.98 or free if you're a prime member. The only catch is you have to cancel your current order and reorder... The CE is oos and the normal one is no longer on sale...
yo i just found ANOTHER SITE and also YOU CAN PREORDER IT omg my friend help me found this thank ndjo3 aka my friend xD who's not on this o_O
